Thanks. He was a good chill cat who was always close to me, whether it was in my lap, by my side, or asleep in bed with me. He'd even wait by the door if I was in the bathroom, bedroom, or away from home. He loved me and I loved him back. Seventeen years of life, ten of those spent with me is a good life for Simon, my cat.

I didn't get the ending I wanted in SMT IV How the hell did I get enough negative alignment that even the +15 at the alignment lock couldn't get me to neutral?

As long as we're talking about game problems, Crusader Kings 2 recently released a DLC that beefs up the game's disease and medicine mechanics, and I'm enjoying the hell out of it so far. However, it contains a random event that gives you a chance to achieve immortality for your ruler by passing a series of tests, and of the ~4 times it's fired for me, only once have I not failed the first check, and in that case my character died before the event chain finished . I just want to play as an undying lich king, is that too much to ask?

The road outside my apartment is being repaved, and we're at the phase where they've put down new stuff, but haven't put down temporary lines to tell people where the turn lanes are. Took me a handful of minutes more to get where I needed to go, simply because everyone is honking at everyone because nobody knows if the old turn lane is supposed to be a turn lane, or a temporary oncoming lane, etc.

The worst is that it still insists even when you're on a laptop, even when it's not plugged in, even when it's out of battery and theoretically urging you to turn it off ASAP. Because running out of battery during an update couldn't possibly cause any problems.

The best you can do to mitigate that is use the "Active Hours" setting so that it won't restart between some time you choose, like during the workday or something. You can only set up to twelve hours, but better than nothing.

Cut my hair after having dread locks for about sixteen years about a month ago. I can't stop playing with my hair and loving up my fro now. Also, I've been trying to figure out how to corn row and stuff like that and good lord, what the actual gently caress? Why is this so hard? Now I have to get my older sister to teach me how to do my hair because I'm too dumb to learn from Youtube. She's gunna pick on me.

My newish desk mate at work eats multiple small meals/snacks (usually just fruit or hummus or something) throughout the day rather than having a big meal at lunch, and seeing her do so always makes me way hungrier than I would normally be at that time of day

When I'm at home I can quite happily have breakfast then not eat until late afternoon, it's weird.

I had a fat toddler in his grandmother's arms lean wayyy too close into my face while weighing their dog today. Said dog went on to try and bite me, but I was far less bothered by the dog than the kid trying to grab at my face. You can muzzle a dog. It's harder to muzzle a toddler. Also I had to endure the boss' kid again and will for the foreseeable future as he doesn't want to work elsewhere. I seriously cannot even figure out his damage, like I don't even know what this woman did to this man to gently caress him up so bad socially. He wasn't home-schooled, he has friends and has had a girlfriend. But he's just so hosed up. It bothers me that I can't figure out his hosed up problems even after years. It's like this terrible mind-puzzle that I'm honestly afraid to look too deeply into, but still keeps popping around corners at work and insisting on me staring right at it as he fails to do even of the most simple tasks correctly and then I have to yell but not yell too much because he'll tattle on me.

The textbook for my class is filled to the brim with lovely notes and highlights to the point where the actual text is near-impossible to read. I'm not talking about good notes either, notes that literally re-iterate the sentence it's underlining. I'm sure that works for some people, but it's a nightmare to learn from. Then again I got it for 80% less than retail because "New textbooks: more valuable than blood diamonds, shark penis, and printer ink combined, apparently" so I guess I shouldn't complain too much.

I celebrated a family holiday by going to this place we hadn't been before. It was the kind-of restaurant that would be on "Kitchen Nightmares." Everything about it was an unpleasant experience from start to finish. My dish was a Southern-style baked chicken, gravy, and mashed potatoes but with goat cheese and chili peppers in the gravy. The plate came out and it was literally 3 globs of meat covered in white sludge. And I forgot to take pictures of it for the Anti-Food Porn Thread

So there's a play version of Cheers in Chicago that I'm mildly interested in seeing. It has a a good review in the paper, but the price tag for good seats is a little bit more than I'd like to spend on what I'm only mildly interested in. On one shoulder I've got an entity saying it's only 90 bucks a ticket and it's Cheers. The entity on the other shoulder is saying it'd be 180 bucks (plus parking and dinner, with someone who doesn't really like Cheers) for a play based off the first few seasons of Cheers that I didn't like as much as the latter. The last couple times I've begun to get sick, it's been on Fridays. My boss is accommodating about illness and encourages me to stay home, but it's awkward to get sick on Friday and also need to stay home on Monday. I'm afraid she thinks I'm trying to take long weekends for fun -- especially annoying because I really was sick all weekend and didn't enjoy myself at all. We're shorthanded because the other person with my job is on short-term disability, meaning I need to do both my job and hers. It's a bad time to be out, but if I don't rest I'll be useless. I've already screwed up some tasks because I was getting ill and felt foggy.
