Man I wish the best for him because he is probably my favorite PBP guy in the league, and I really biased in favor of Rick Peckham. Strader and Razor together might be my favorite duo in any sport.

By the way, here's Dave Strader's last call for the Red Wings, on WKBD. Do you remember way back in the day loving Lebatard had some picking thing where they'd get a b list celebrity to pick games and if they got too good, or too into it they'd fire them. I distinctly remember, or half remember, Lebatard firing someone for trying to "take into account wind conditions on gameday" because that's not what they were after.

Norm making GBS threads all over the ESPYs as host was one of the best moments in sports history. Fox Sports has a genuinely cool piece about Kenny Albert, who has called drat near every sport out there, and according to Awful Announcing is the only PBP guy currently doing MLB, NBA, NFL, and NHL work. There are some neat stories in there.

Awful Announcing has a pretty interesting piece up about how some Disney stock analysts are getting a tad iffy about them, citing ESPN's NBA deal, cable subscribers, trying to follow up on Force Awakens' momentum, the new theme park in Shanghai, etc. A guy from Motley Fool refutes the concerns in there as well. It's a pretty neat look if you're into the inner workings of these kind of deals.

Would've really like to have seen this analysis include Disney's potential bid for Twitter b/v that seems to be several factors more bugfuck crazy than paying more for the NBA or for a theme park in China. If that happens, also, doesn't Disney become God-King of Hot Takes?

Last night's BYU/Toledo football game was pretty rad. Adam Amin and Mack Brown are calling the game. Early in the 4th quarter Toledo is up by 3 in a 45-42 track meet. Mack Brown promptly leaves and Amin has to call the rest of the game solo from the booth with Molly McGrath on the sidelienes chiming in. E: Some context: Yahoo posted:It was bizarre, but I’m assuming there aren’t many flights from Utah (Amin mentioned Brown had to catch a car to Salt Lake City airport, which is 45 minutes from Provo, where BYU is located) back to Bristol. That leaves one to wonder why ESPN assigned Brown to the game in the first place if he had in-studio duties to attend to back East on Saturday. 3 new 30 For 30 films on the wayquote:“Phi Slama Jama,” focusing on the legendary University of Houston college basketball team that featured Hakeem Olajuwon and Clyde Drexler, and made three straight Final Fours from 1982 to 1984, will premiere on Tuesday, Oct. 18. Directed by Chip Rives (The Eighth Wonder of the World), the documentary isn’t just a chronicle and celebration of one of college basketball’s great teams (who suffered one of the sport’s most heartbreaking losses in 1983). It’s also something of a mystery, attempting to find the whereabouts of role player Benny Anders, who disappeared after being kicked off the team in 1985. All of these sound great.

Jon Daly wasn't as plastered over the newspapers every day leading up to one event but I'd imagine that one will be interesting.
