I love how the shitizens think its loving normal that devs had to waste 4 loving months to prove something to chris. 4months later " poo poo don't work Chris, we told you chris, but you didn't wanna listen chris." everything is fine. Jason Sextro posted:I have a different take - I think it was a great idea to get Chris Roberts's quotes directly to show the world how out of touch he is with the project he claims to be the last word for on everything. The best way to show CR is deluded is to give him the chance to respond to the very consistent accusations that have dogged him ever since The Escapist. Perhaps with normal people. If the past portends the future--by Monday morning Citizens will have spun this as another sign of the greatest game ever and the need to back just a little more. What I'm waiting for is the backpedaling that will occur if the subscription model pans out to be true. Just last week the Citizens trashed Dual Universe over its funding model. Seeing those same people twist the narrative how subscriptions to a game years from release is groundbreaking and necessary should be enough to stretch my head, so when election day is past--maybe, just maybe, my head won't explode.

http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2016/09/23/inside-the-troubled-development-of-star-citizen posted:Stripping out the first-person systems that come supplied with the CryEngine seems like a bizarre decision, but Roberts says it was essential for his plans to unify first and third-person perspectives. “In most first-person shooters, the first-person is floating hands in front of a camera and the third person is an entirely different set of animations and assets,” he explains. “It works fine in first-person games, particularly single player first-person games. It's also the reason why, if you play a game like Crysis, the fidelity of the animations in the single player game aren't the same as you see in the multiplayer game. That's also true of Call of Duty.” i read this bit on the toilet when google now gave me that kotaku article and i honestly can't believe he said this is chris roberts even remotely involved in the development process? has he ever even played a cryengine game?

My favorite comments are any of the ones that tout the commenter's experience in development and they say it's totally fine. I wanna know what Mickey Mouse Operation those guys worked at. From what I've read of CIG's process and the culture, it would be an immediate "I need to quit and not have my name attached to this clown car" in my book. Alan Smithee plz.

Plot twist: It wasn't "nominated". You submit your own project into the pool. Plot twist 2: The phrasing might make you think Adobe chooses the best one. It doesn't. There are two rounds of public voting. Best one wins and gets a trophy from Adobe. Plot twist 3: They already got the award in 2015. They just resubmitted the exact same Turbulent Star Map project for this year.

Confirmed: Chris Roberts is a narcist. Confirmed: Chris Roberts suffers from OCD and is a hopeless perfectionist. Confirmed: Chris Roberts got all the backgrounds and is never wrong. it's always the others blaming others being wrong. Essentially Chris is that kid that knew it all that everyone hated at school. Edit: Confirmed. Chris Roberts is passive-aggressive. - Article 1 out of 5 - looking forward to what else is there to tell. someone finally writes that novel that this game development dream turned nightmare deserves. - Surprised how great this article must have been put together to convince both sides of a dime that this is the best thing that could ever have happened to their respective sides of view. - r/starcitizen clearly are the harbingers of NDA compliance, all those employees speaking out harming the development process. - INN is going to have a long rear end livestream and is to conclude with dead eyes "we told you everything is awesome - this is fine really - it's all going to be different now". - Ben will auto-compensate with weird nerdgasmic tweets over the weekend. - Those sixty headcounts are certainly going to be an easy fill now... I mean who in their right mind voluntarily risks to wander into micromanagers hell. - Chris Roberts is a misunderstood softie, rides the broncos from no man's sky and absolutely hates passive-aggressive americun'ts - very christian bale, also he has a background in everything and likes to be worshipped, likes to have his HR person to walk people into rooms for headshots. - Must be quite a job to be married to that guy... not wearing the wedding ring certainly must be a constant tickle to CR's OCD - very passive aggressive. - Americun'ts are useless - Erin and his merry band to the rescue, it's scary how close to collapse the project seems to have been until he got in. - How random to let the faith of star marine fester with fanbase speculation for what felt an eternity only to confess the details when being confronted and it still not being clear to them where mistakes happened from their summit. (bonus points for giving the vanduul size issues in their environments more new credibility, how did that happen again) - Chris Roberts loves devotion. Beer never stood a chance to win his handshake. (and you sent them free beer... what a waste) - His directors seem to be devoted to the cause "we show them anything goes" - also TonyZ comes off as someone not necessarily caring about the human factor when his team mates got the shaft. - Chris Roberts making everyone go around the world for his beloved apple events. "this is a pc game" - Everyone thinks Chris Roberts is like Steve Jobs, Elon Musk or Jeff Benzos - overlooking the fact that all the latter actually had success and are pretty rare none of them messed up in games development before heading for film development and messing up there again (also none of them ran a tickle porn empire) - Citizens are easily impressed with CR's wayne attitude - knowing exactly what he wants, knowing no compromises and expecting dedication and devotion - uh, that guy will finish things, he is loud. - Most citizens must also not do well in relationships if they hold any - seeing them not seeing the bad communication issues with CR. - Most citizens must either have no work or are working in dystopia for not recognising micromanagers being the worst kind of leadership archetype you can work for. It's certainly refund time. - would love to hear from 8ball the reaction from the floor about this article sorla78 fucked around with this message at 21:27 on Sep 23, 2016 |
