the whole meme magic thing is a little uh, out there

i basically can't post an explanation because of how many wordfilters i'll hit but, they started (ironically) believing that an ancient egyptian god in the ogdoad (a group of 8, 4 frog-headed male gods and 4 snake-headed female gods, in groups of 2, representing the dualities of some concepts) was their patron deity, because the name of the god sounds like words they use a lot, which i'm pretty sure are all word-filtered.

then it stopped being entirely ironic.
so the alt-right has its own weird occultism where some of them think they're on a mission from an ancient egyptian god that sounds like a meme, and treat making lovely white supremacist memes as a form of worship, and that this 'meme magic' is what is making their efforts so successful.
this, of course, started on 4chan.

anyway that's the world we live in now.

i put a lamp on a timer, set it to about half an hour before the alarm goes off, and hung it above my bed and it works better than any sound alarm. i'm always awake by the time the alarm goes off and it is way more pleasant. try this,.

yeah i mean it comes on from a huge history of the actual 1930s/1940s nazis being huge into occultism, particularly the waffen-ss, but... generally they were into poo poo that at some point directly interacted with christianity? be it norse paganism or germanic
it's partially because they wanted to bill themselves as the successor to the 2nd Reich, the Holy Roman Empire, which itself played successor to the Roman Empire, and sought validity in artifacts of rome and the catholic saints
a lot of new-age poo poo was influenced by nazi occultism (how they sought validation of their real-world power thru the occult, and how any sign of their success was, to them, a sign that whatever they were worshipping at the time favoured them, reinforcing the belief, etc) and, y'know, written by actual white supremacists
so like, yeah
fun times

To date, only two cases of stinging by Keesingia gigas have been documented – one produced severe Irukandji syndrome, whilst the other caused only local and groin pain.

we have this idea built into an alarm clock

the light starts to slowly brighten like 20 minutes before the alarm is set so that you can wake "naturally" from light

has birdsong and poo poo built into it too
