Although I can edit and mess around with stuff, I'm by no means skilled in modding or scripting, but it slowly makes sense. staberind fucked around with this message at 21:55 on Sep 22, 2016 |

Is there anything like the Weapon Balance Overhaul coming for the post-Nuka World world? I got the DLC for my birthday and want to do a hardcore survival run but I really don't want the game to go back to full sets of combat armour and assault rifles as the "meta"

Yeah I'd echo that. I haven't played since release and I want to dive into some mods and the DLC, but I want to play with lots of normal firearms and the selection was pretty limited in vanilla and were terribly balanced (I basically used one gun through most of the game). What mods to expand and balance do you guys recommend?

I have also read that the Weapon Balance POverhaul mod works ATM but people are complaining that snipers are redic as gently caress and will one shot everything.

I've seen lots of references to Modern Firearms, but it's gone from the Nexus. It is any good? (Is it still available anywhere?)

WBO is great, but it does make the DLC weapons seem a little underwhelming. It wouldn't be difficult to add them to the mod. But I have no idea what a balanced number would be for the radium rifle and the AK. The Western Revolver could just use the same numbers from the .44. The Lever could mostly copy the .50 hunting rifle for the best reciever, and scale down slightly from there. How would you like to see the AK compared to the assault rifle? Lower ROF, higher damage? 7.62 is a heavy round that does an incredible amount of tissue damage.

Isn't the Radium Rifle just a Combat Rifle with radiation damage added? For the AKM I would say decent per-shot damage, comparable RoF, terrible recoil handling.

Legendary Modification is absolutely required, as far as I'm concerned. Should've been in the game to begin with. EDIT: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/18717/ Also this mod. This is mandatory. Gonkish fucked around with this message at 07:18 on Sep 24, 2016 |

FuzzySlippers posted:Any mods that add guns balanced to WBO? I actually tend to find that mod added weapons tend to fit very well with WBO by default, as most mod authors make their weapons, well, better than vanilla at least and overpowered at best. The overpowered ones tend to still be slightly overpowered ones, but most fit in comfortably without much if any editing alongside vanilla weapons.

Also how would one edit the WBO files to change the DLC weapons cause it sounds like a simple enough task that we could do it here ourselves; or even make a patch for it.

Not had any issues that I've noticed, unless it's the cause of the sudden framerate drops I've been getting while exploring Kiddie Kingdom. Though I will admit that I only have it basically for the ability to make dedicated guards with uniforms and poo poo.

So I haven't played this game since a few months after release, and I have what I'm sure is an ancient version of NMM somewhere. Can I just ignore/delete that and do a fresh install of the good Mod Manager and started setting up mods? I'll be starting a new game obviously.

I want a simple mod that greatly slows down healing from food/water. As in, instead of healing 10/sec for 5 seconds it will heal 1/sec for 50 seconds. Still heals you, but food becomes for out-of-combat healing and you need stimpacks for in-combat healing. I'm certain this must exist, but I can't readily find it.

Davoren posted:I'm looking at We Are The Minutemen but it has a fair few bug reports and posts about it not playing nice with Nuka World, anyone using it who can tell me if it's working/any good? I used the Basic Version because the other one looked to be a lot of feature creep (tanks? really?) but ended up dropping it because I had two bugs. One was Preston would never start the Castle quest and I'd need to use console to kick it off. Other was whenever I used the flare gun I would have four or so leveled minutemen following me at all times. If I lost them or they all died off by the time I got to a different settlement there they would be, respawned, waiting for me. That required using the console to stop too. It seems like its been a bit since any updates have happened (i think?) so I stopped using it but I ended up just going with this which is all I really wanted anyways.

The Lone Badger posted:I don't want the rest of Survival though (mostly the saving and fast-travel restrictions). There are mods to get around those. Survival mode console enables both the console and fast travel, and Sleep or Save (or at least I think it's that one) provides a hotkeyable aid item that triggers an auto save on demand. I don't know of any mods that make the healing items work like Survival in the other modes, though.

So this game crashes when I try to actually get in game, either by loading a save or creating a new game, instant CTD. I haven't tried playing it in almost a year, and since then got the robot dlc. I had NMM and a handful of mods before, but uninstalled it. I installed Mod Organizer and was going to set up new mods through that, but I can't even get the vanilla game to work. Just loading it up normally through steam/the launcher. Already verified file integrity. Apparently this game doesn't believe in log files. Any clue what the hell? Edit: Figured it out. Reinstalled NMM, deleted each old mod by hand. counterfeitsaint fucked around with this message at 07:38 on Sep 25, 2016 |

So, as Preston is one of the few POC in the game, I tend to look at mods regarding him rather dubiously, however, some have kept him as af-am, so that's cool, however, this one is worth getting for the voice alone.
