hillary clinton will have no problems attacking trump, and trump has shown he doesn't take attacks well

Let me tell you about the magical bullshit of expectations and framing, friend: Trump is graded on a curve and most people will only remember the debate in terms of the vague narrative as recounted by the media's dumb metrics of politics-as-theatre, the grading rubric of which is entirely up to their whims.

why is it that whenever you get a journalist to break out of "there is no truth unless both parties agree there is" they then leap to "if I disagree with your framing of something that makes it a lie"

I'm not arguing the debate will matter, just that it's going to be remembered and graded narratively in the dumbest way possible.

Watching the debates is frustrating in the same way as watching the Game Grumps fail at playing a game despite it literally telling them how to play in pop-up windows.

it's difficult to get enthusiastic about journalistic fact-checking when one of the biggest fact-checking organisations awarded the lie of the year to the democrats calling paul ryan's plan to replace medicare with something completely different and awful a plan to "end medicare"

I mean they should still do it but they should try not to be insanely bad at it
