In 2010 Senate the polling average in Nevada showed Sharon Angle with a 2.7% lead going into the elections then Harry Reid won by 5.6%. In 2012 it showed Heller up 4% and he ended up winning by 1.2%. Besides, if there's any state in the nation who should understand what a colossal loving idiot you have to be to bankrupt a Casino, it's Nevada. Then we found out that the decades long crime wave in the nation had peaked, and we're still coming down 20 years latter. New research into the crime wave then came to far different conclusions, with various environmental and social factors appearing to have driven the crime increase from the 60s to the 90s that had nothing to do with psychopathic black youths scaring nice white people. Speaking for myself, I had never even heard of him before watching that 'debate', but good lord he does not come off well in it. The combination of his utter assuredness in his completely unrealistic scenario of a trump victory and his inability to take criticism of why his scenario wouldn't work just combine into an insufferable mass, and it would be hard to take anything he has to say seriously in the future.

vyelkin posted:Yeah I don't remember the details but it was along the lines of "In the 90s Hillary Clinton said something about being concerned about violence in video games, therefore Trump 2016" Oh look, it's nerd night for me. This actually kind of happened, in the mid-2000s with the Hot Coffee blowup in GTA San Andreas. There's a bunch of news articles from the time covering her announcing wanting to do something about games and poo poo, but in spite of her wanting legislation restricting sales of adult games to minors, I can't find any record of her doing much more than saying "Hey, there ought to be a law," And then... it disappeared like so much steam. Either someone pointed out the problem with that as a 1st Amendment issue or the media attention died down and she didn't pursue it. That didn't stop Rockstar from blaming her for the Hot Coffee controversy even though she was rather peripheral to it at best... http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-11-30-who-spilled-hot-coffee quote:As news of the Hot Coffee content spilled into mainstream culture, the issue became politicised. Senator Hillary Clinton called for federal game regulation and the Federal Trade Commission launched its own investigation. A Class Action Complaint For Violations Of Federal Securities Laws was brought against Take-Two, with the plaintiffs alleging: “By merely 'wrapping' rather than removing the Adult Content, Defendants knew that the Adult Content would inevitably be made widely available.” quote:But the Rockstar boss couldn't resist one final dig at his critics. San Andreas' follow-up, GTA 4, was based in a fictionalised version of New York. The face on the game's version of the Statue of Liberty bore a striking resemblance to Hillary Clinton. Instead of a flaming torch, she clutched a mug of steaming coffee. EDIT: Oh look, she did join up with Lieberman try to make it a law... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Family_Entertainment_Protection_Act Rebochan fucked around with this message at 05:45 on Sep 26, 2016 |
