I'm guessing he had it queued up for DTRPG and erroneously assumed that his website could take the load long enough for him to send out the DTRPG link. :v:

I really like the sci fi furniture from the first stretch goal. The minis all seem a bit uninspired though, except for the robot friend hero.

But its just not doing it for me. Can't decide if its the art or what seem like lackluster mechanics.

Yeah, I was tempted since a sci fi dungeon crawler sounds good, but I wasn't thrilled with Dungeon Saga and Siege of the Citadel currently has a reboot kickstarter anyway. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/274643038/siege-of-the-citadel-2nd-edition-techno-fantasy-bo/posts/1691802

TEG is a lot of fun; my friends and I bust it out pretty often. It's a low-footprint dice-rolling-and-allocation game that's easy to learn and scales well for the number of people.

I know this is a bit more niche than most of the stuff in the thread but Fat Dragon Games, who have been selling PDFs to print card stock tabletop terrain is running a kickstarter for 3d village terrain. It's their second KS for something like this, the first was for dungeons and caverns sets and are on drivethru.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or if you literally didn't recognize any of them as being rip offs of various anime / cartoons.

I'm not familiar with all of them but I think it's like:

Getter Robo / Go Gygar? / Guraan Lagan / Gundam
Evangelion / Voltron / Transformers

But the first three are not things I've ever watched.

Doodmons posted:

Largely the way that the new Enhancements system, where you only ever roll your Stat + Skill for a given task but things like equipment, circumstances and supernatural powers add automatic successes (but unless you get 3 successes over the difficulty it's only a partial success) makes everything way, way swingier and more brutally deterministic. If you're Stronk Stronkson the jotun and you're trying to punch someone, you're either going to miss outright or blast them into tiny tiny pieces with absolutely no middle ground. Literally all you need is that single success for all your other things to proc off and you to get like 5 or 6 successes. Scion 1E had this real problem where people with a difference of even 1 Legend literally couldn't fight each other without it being a one-way brutal murderfuck because of the sheer number of automatic successes that higher levels of Epic Attributes gave you - Scion 2E replicates this problem in spades where if you have more Enhancements than the other person you will defeat them 99% of the time with no deviation. So much of your power comes as automatic successes provided by Enhancements rather than from the dice themselves that the outcome of any given competition is pretty much predestined. Scale compounds on this problem where if you fight something of greater Scale than you, it will straight-up annihilate you unless you have some really grody stats on your side that it doesn't have, for some reason.

I've found (well, okay, someone else found and shared with me) a dev tracker that seems to state that this is not how it works.

quote:

Q: The system seems massively swingy, if your are a focused character with five relevant Enchancement and you roll 0 successes you get 0, but if you roll 1 you get 6, that seems uneven, particularly with defense numbers seeming static and much more modest. Given that the damage system has a lot in common with Fate, I'm concerned that will play poorly together. If a stamina 2 character takes 8 damage they'll need to fill their -4 box or be instantly taken out? (HidaO-Win)
A: Yes, but note that Enhancements are pretty powerful and - it's not stressed in the document but it is in the books - somewhat rare. There's a soft cap of 3 where we point out to Storyguides that this represents an overwhelming advantage. (Neall)

That's a good one but it can't handle all of the templates from the KS. You need the $600 version to be able to print everything.

Now being proudly introduced is the core rule book for The Book of the Tor, a fantasy sword magic adventure. A new perspective on a genre used for decades, this new world will include unique systems, and has highly RPG motivated gameplay. This new system not only motivates, but inspires others to create themselves through their adventures, and players will never have felt more rewarded for playing true to their characters. All funding made to this book will only further the elements included in the book, and allow for an even more in-depth gameplay than what is already guaranteed.

This is gobbledygook. And they have a class called the 'CLANDESTINIAN'. It's the most heartbreaker rpg i've seen in months.
