The word "possibly" is carrying a hell of a lot of weight here. Yes, of course.

Like, when the US and Israel sabotaged the Iranian nuclear program with Stuxnet, that's p. much an act of war.

The truly "useful idiot" (I hate that phrase) is the one who initiates an armed conflict with a Russian proxy over a cyberattack.

Stux net is one of the more direct attacks, but our nation has also inserted backdoors into numerous computing devices and components as well as the nsa spying through our tech companies. We don't have much of any leg to stand on when complaining about hacking and espionage from other countries

Well, and I guess people are going to call me :tinfoil: I suppose, but I assume this is all in response to the dnc hack, so I'm assuming that sort of thing would be deemed worthy of military response.

By military response she means cyber attacks. So, sure. If Russia wants to gently caress around with cyber, let's see how they feel about not having any informational security.

We eavesdropped the phone calls of 35 world leaders in the mid 2000s. If Russia collecting one party's emails is a battle-worthy offense then nearly every ally we have would be justified in taking military action against us. They wouldn't dare, of course, but that doesn't mean we should, or render Hillary's prognostications of conflict any less stupid

so to be clear you genuinely believe that Hillary Clinton believes launching military attacks (I assume you mean 'conventional' stuff like bombs right?) is a possible response to Literally Who of the DNC's grumbling about Sanders got leaked? You honestly believe that to be something that could happen?

People use that in terms of 'we're not going to just roll our eyes and go 'oh those scamps' like we often do because many don't view cyber attacks as 'real' attacks still'.

Espionage can merit all kinds of responses depending on severity. The normal way to view this is that nothing has changed, whatsoever. The thick weirdo way to view this is "Clinton might take us to war with Russia because they hacked the DNC."

because of what, the DNC hack or 'cyber attacks' in general? I think there are a ton of cyber attacks that are worthy of something like sanctions pushes. I don't think literally anyone, anyone at all, believes there should be any punishment beyond the actual hackers themselves for the DNC hack, and maybe a stern 'dick move' condemnation type thing.

I've said before, that I am not a Green. I am willing to vote for Stein as of now, because they are actually good on a number of important issues. I do not agree with any of the woo in the party I do not think Stein will be president, it is a protest, but it is also for giving an (admittedly very flawed) left party a better opportunity to get heard in the next cycle by hitting the thresholds.

Cyberwarfare could be pretty nasty for our country considering we really don't take security seriously where we should. For example, the entertainment and communications features in modern cars are poorly secured to the point some models of cars can be sabotaged remotely via the internet.
