Actually, thinking about it, the reason I don't like scrambled eggs are because you lose the delicious yolkiness and just get something that's lesser than each part when mixed together. Where is this and how can I get it

I love fried eggs and scrambled, but making an omelette is touch and go for me, because as soon as yellow (beaten) egg starts to brown, it goes from yum to yuck

Well, to be fair, some people just aren't kitchen types. I know a gal who works as an auditor. One of the best at what she does--figuring out how the bad eggs (ha) are stealing company money. Bring her in, show her the paperwork, and within minutes, she'll go "haha this is how they're doing it, the fuckin' amateurs." Her eyes, alight with an eager fire, dance across spreadsheets and printouts like she has nystagmus. It's ridiculous how adept she is. Put her in the kitchen, though, and it's an outtake reel from The Three Stooges. If you asked her to boil a cup of water, she'd ask for a recipe. It's as if she's devoted all of her brain cells to professional fraud detection and had none left for "probably use a slotted spoon for that" or "maybe don't use a stock pot to make a single can of condensed soup, also you need to add a can of water because 'condensed' means you know what never mind go find the bad guys" edit: ACES CURE PLANES posted:Actually, thinking about it, the reason I don't like scrambled eggs are because you lose the delicious yolkiness and just get something that's lesser than each part when mixed together. A neighbor used to give me fresh eggs, and they creeped me out because you had to wipe the chicken poo poo off, but I made some for my folks and my mom reminisced fondly about how you used to wipe the poo poo off every egg.

If the coop is kept clean and bedding changed regularly, poo poo on eggs should be pretty rare. It happens, but for me it's maybe 1 in 10.

Lots of reasons people are terrible at cooking : Laziness, either people willing to settle for subpar microwave food or spring for decent restaurant food. Or just have someone in their household who cooks well do it. Culture, coming from a culture that doesn't really embrace cooking if alternate methods are available. Learned helplessness. This is like people hopeless with computers. They could potentially improve but it's so much easier to lean on someone else. Loners. It's a lot more cost effective in time and money to cook for lots of people vs cooking for just yourself.

I don't know what it is but I find myself liking eggs on their own less and less as the years go by. Like, I scrambled three eggs this morning and didn't really enjoy them all that much. I don't know why. I used to love eating eggs as a kid but these days I'd rather have a bagel or some cereal for breakfast, if I even have breakfast. I have no problem with eating egg IN things, like a potato salad with egg bits, or as part of Eggs Benedict, but on their own I'm fast becoming indifferent towards them. And I don't really like it.

I've always loved hard-boiled eggs but raw eggs/uncooked yolks do nothing for me; the latter actively makes things sickly rich. Tried a fried egg on pizza and couldn't finish a single slice. Just thought I'd PYF Egg Opinion

My nana made the most delicious, simple, best scrambled eggs. My mom made okay ones. They used the same ingredients, I'm pretty sure in the same quantities. Not sure why Nana's were so special. I think it is because Nana made them and everything tasted better in her kitchen, which was yellow and looked exactly like it did when they bought the house in 1949 or whatever except there was also a microwave

I love eggs and I'm a fan of most except for soft-boiled and the kind of fried egg where you don't flip it... I want to try the raw egg over ramen/soup/whatever sometime but I'm a big baby and usually do a hard-boiled egg, sometimes marinated in soy sauce. Mostly runny yolks are good for toast or sausages!! When I was a kid, I tried to 'boil' an egg in the microwave by just putting the egg in there, whole, in shell. I picked it up when it was hot and it burst on my hand.

I'm kicking myself for not thinking to take a picture of it, but my dad and I just got back from a weekend in Kansas and oh man, you just haven't lived until you go to a new "restaurant" run by some people who, I'm pretty sure, did a lot of "#wifemateriallol" cooking before opening this place. I'm talking poo poo like "what is a salad? Iceberg lettuce and cheese, perhaps?" levels of...I don't know what. It's not the world's largest burger or unique combination foods or anything, but I still feel like doing a write up of the place because the entire experience (restaurant layout, setting, ...."food") was just very odd. I'm just mad that I didn't think to take any actual pictures of the place.

...Huh. Apparently, they're not on Yelp yet. Like, I saw something for them advertised in the motel we were staying at (it's called Rattlers) and the menu seemed completely harmless when I was reading it. Either they're REALLY new or they just didn't have people put reviews up. Now I'm really tempted... edit: it took me a little bit to find them again on google because they bill themselves as a "Bar and Grill". They're not. It legit threw me for a loop, I was just looking at my phone like "No, that can't be them," because like, Jesus Christ, they didn't even have a soda fountain in the back! I could hear them opening the loving can of Coke that I ordered all the way from where I was sitting! Bar and Grill, my rear end! BaDandy has a new favorite as of 03:21 on Sep 28, 2016 |

Do it egg drop soup style: mix the egg white and yolk up in a bowl with a fork and pour it in the boiling water thirty seconds before you take the ramen off the heat. It'll shred and pretty much cook instantly. Hell, you can just crack the egg directly into the pot if you're lazy and don't mind risking some shell or a surprise rotten egg.
