He just kind of bumbles along not actually doing stuff and succeeding because of other people's work. The setting itself is fun and the side characters are usually pretty good so the more they move away from HP himself the better.

I don't think he's that bad, I'm not keeping my eyes peeled for the newest Kevin James banger or something but he's definitely a solid enough comic actor in the mold that people expect. He'd be better if it didn't seem like he was constantly ready for the punch-line but that's the stuff that appeals to a lot of people.

For all I know he's an amazing comedian. Just all I know of him is King of Queens season like 3-5, comfortable seasons. So handicrafty, humorwise. Jerry Springer has the timing down, Patton Oswalt is really good with his material and god bless him, I appreciate the show and other shows for giving the comedians a "day job"
