Is this the thread to talk HomeKit stuff? I've got a Hue bridge and a handful of lights. I've setup the room/light names in the Hue app, but the room names don't seem to be pulling into the Home app. This makes the light icons in the control center say [Default Room] instead of the actual room names. I get an error when trying to rename the default room in the Home app, and googling for the error message ("could not edit whatever") didn't turn up anything. I'm also curious if anyone has experience with the Hue light strips. I want to install them on top of a couple of bookshelves, but Amazon reviews seem pretty uneven.

For some reason the photos I take on my iPhone SE are no longer showing in iCloud. It looks like it stopped on Sept 11, so probably not related to iOS10 directly. I've tried toggling "iCloud Photo Library" off and on and it doesn't seem to help. Any other things to try? It's always been pretty fine, I have no idea why it suddenly stopped syncing.

HomeKit doesn't seem to pull the room names from the Hue bridge, just the light names. I just setup the rooms with the names I wanted in the Home app. It worked out. Hey Siri turn the Living Room lights to 25% is some loving Star Trek poo poo and I love it. Siri's ability to use the lighting scenes is spotty, going to a Bing (lol) search about 60% of the time it seems. BTW if you have an Apple TV 4 and are having trouble setting up home kit on that, make sure you've got 2 factor authentication for iCloud turned on. Reboot all home kit enabled devices and wait about half an hour. Fixed it for me.

The first one has a free version at the very least, so try that first. From memory that's the one I used, and I could grab the gpx files from iTunes easily enough to import into Lightroom.

I just started using ProTube and I'm in love with it BUT there is an issue and I'm not sure if it's a bug or a feature I don't understand. When I start a video (in window or fullscreen/horizontal) and I tap on the video it pauses. Tapping again unpauses. Fine. But the UI overlay doesn't appear so I can't scrub or go back etc. I have to keep tapping many times, pausing and unpausing and then finally the overlay shows up and from that point on the behavior changes and tapping doesn't pause and unpause, but summons and dismisses the ui overlay. Does anyone else using ProTube have this issue or am I just doing it wrong? Using latest iOS on a 6S+.

Long press/hard touch a light, press "details" assign it to a new room. Bing bang boom. I have gen1 Hue strips. They are great. I mounted one under my cabinets in the kitchen for a counter light. Got it on a set time (dinner) and also Alexa is nearby for an impromptu command or Hey Siri. I imagine the Gen2 are even better. My issue with Home(kit) App is I got my ATV4 all linked in as the automation hub but even though I schedule lights at certain times, they don't come on. Reading a lot of that on the internet. Thinking it's maybe a bug. Maybe a 10.1 beta known issue. Who loving knows... That's the last puzzle piece for me. Thinking of getting more home automation stuff now. I have nest cams, protects, a nest thermostat and about 20 varying Hue bulbs.

I use pro tube on a 6s+ and it only pauses if you tap and hold. A short tap brings up the UI

What bitcoin coin wallet are you guys using? I used to use blockchain but now it's crap. I used bread wallet but I can't stand that they force you to use bits instead of BTC. Right now I'm using CoPay but wonder if there is anything better out there.

I dunno if someone else has listed it, but I've been using Roccat Browser. Light, fast, can get all the stuff off my Macbook on my phone. Can do the same with google chrome I guess but its really light for phone and macbook. I like it.

Thanks for all the HomeKit stuff y'all, I appreciate it. I'm just now dipping a toe into this stuff but I'm really digging it. I came across something called HomeBridge that is essentially an open source version of HomeKit that lets you hook up non-HomeKit devices. Some friends of mine have used it to get their Nest working with Siri, which sounds pretty cool. Installation on a Windows box looks intimidating, so I might pick up a rPi to handle that stuff.

I guess since Apple Watch can just pass through iPhone notifications I'm going about this in a way I don't need to. Let's try it simpler. Any free or very inexpensive apps that will send me score updates for the Seahawks? I don't need it to be some ultra sports app that does a ton of poo poo. I just want Seahawks game score notifications as close to realtime as is reasonable to expect. Thank you.

I use homebridge on a pi to integrate my Nest and some z-wave switches (with a Aeontec Z-wave stick). It takes a little fussing with to get going initially but seems to work really well.

I'm getting used to the big size no homo. The going back to the 6 test does work, it seems so diminutive in comparison now. One problem I still have though is that even though reachability is pretty nice, the width of the keyboard is still loving huge and sometimes reaching across strains my poor thumb joints. Do you guys use alternative keyboards that shrink its width for one hand use? I think some android phones had that feature not sure why it's not native here.
