From The Time I Found Donald Trump’s Tax Records in My Mailbox posted by freeper justlurking.

The article is by the reporter that received Trump's 1995 tax return in her mailbox. It's an interesting read if you haven't read the actual tax article.

quote:

I think Trump actually sent his tax returns to the NY Times.

See my analysis here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3475916/posts

Short version: I don't think Trump's former accountant would have validated the authenticity of the returns without Trump's permission.

And, the reporter received the envelope about two weeks after the NY Times executive editor said he would risk jail to publish Trump's returns.

No, the IRS did not leak Romney's tax returns. Their "evidence" of this is Harry Reid speculating about Romney not paying income tax for the prior decade.

Meanwhile, freep continues to completely fail at understanding Donald Trump.

To suggest Trump mailed these forms to the NYT himself is idiotic; Lois Lerner was a Bush appointee Uniparty stooge that would do either Clintons or Bushbots’ bidding.

I’m sort of freaked out that a FReeper could post such idiocy as the other FReeper posted...

OK, let's start with your idiocy.

The federal IRS doesn't have copies of Trump's state income tax returns.

The only documentation provided with an individual return are the various permutations of W-2 and 1099 forms that show state or local income taxes withheld -- and that's only if you don't file electronically.

Who besides Trump would have state income tax returns from three different states? These were all mailed together -- how did the same person collect this information from three different sources?

It was obviously someone with access to all of Trump's returns. If it was someone on Trump's staff, why would they send a 1995 return, if they had access to the latest filings?

And why did they only send the state returns, leaving out the federal return?

None of this makes any sense, unless someone is setting up the NY Times, after an editor admitted he would risk jail time to publish Trump's returns.

Perhaps you remember how Trump used to grant phone interviews, pretending to be his own publicist. One was resurrected recently, after it was "obtained" by the Washington Post.

The person that conducted the interview said that she wrote an article about it, and subsequently destroyed the tape. No one else would have had the recording -- except for Trump. Trump got a lot of free publicity out of it, at a crucial time during the primaries. And, the Post looked like a bunch of idiots when they got punked.

I don't know what Trump's long game might now be, but I suspect we'll find out soon.

Polk County man arrested for having milk crate

A guy in Florida with a dairy crate attached to his bike got arrested for "Possession of Dairy Crate."

Polk County Sheriff’s Office posted:

“Deputies are actually out there proactively looking for things that don’t look right; looking for suspicious things. If they see somebody riding a bicycle at 10 o’clock at night they may have a conversation with them. They are looking for people who are doing even the smallest crime, because, what we’ve learned is, those who will go out an steal a milk crate, for example, are the same people who are probably breaking into cars, breaking into your house,” Horstman said.

Seriously, gently caress the police.

Ask Rudy Giuliani

“The broken windows theory is a criminological theory of the norm-setting and signaling effect of urban disorder and vandalism on additional crime and anti-social behavior. The theory states that maintaining and monitoring urban environments to prevent small crimes such as vandalism, public drinking, and toll-jumping helps to create an atmosphere of order and lawfulness, thereby preventing more serious crimes from happening.

The theory was introduced in a 1982 article by social scientists James Q. Wilson and George L. Kelling.[1] Since then it has been subject to great debate both within the social sciences and the public sphere. The theory has been used as a motivation for several reforms in criminal policy, including the controversial mass use of “stop, question, and frisk” by the New York City Police Department.”

Hard to know how this cuts, politically. Our black brother & sister FReepers will have to weigh in.

But it is pretty obnoxious if the young man was shunted aside as yet another Clinton casualty all these years, as he is the innocent party.

I went over to this young man’s Twitter feed and saw some photos of him in (what appears to be) military fatigues (?). I’m not an expert on this, but it looks like he may have enlisted in the military.

If I am right about the military thing, comparing a soldier who volunteered to serve our nation to that miserable, spoiled, sanctimonious Chelsea Clinton isn’t even a fair fight.

I wish him all the best.

I had heard that DNA tests already proved otherwise

A DNA test for Danny was run against data that was purportedly on file from the Blue Dress test... but it would be in the interest of government security agencies to replace the real data with false data. Consequently it's hard to say whether the negative results from the paternity test are valid or not.

The far more significant headline will be that either Trump or Assange releases irrefutable documentation that Hillary is a lesbian. If that happens, 3-5% of Hillary’s support will vaporize and she will lose the election.

Also, this is a distraction. Libs and the media are reacting only to the classic bit that bill was a horny goat. NO, THAT IS NOT IMPORTANT. What is important is this:

1. Hillary defended a sexual predator, a rapist.
2. How is this different from those wives of molestors and kidnappers like the Smart girl and the other one who was kidnapped and forced to have children by the male kidnapped?
3. Hillary trashed these victims SO THAT SHE COULD GAIN POWER FROM BILL’S DEEDS.
4. This big strong feminist wouldn’t even TRY on her own. She wouldn’t divorce Bill back in Little Rock and try her hand at politics. Noooooo, she clung to a woman-abusing perv because he had charisma and some brains and she figured she could ride his coat tails.

If hillary has tried to do stuff to keep Bill from a child or to keep him from supporting and nurturing a son, it works against them.

Give Mr. Trump credit here. Tiffany has been well provided for and is part of the Trump family, in spite of circumstances. Why circumstances? Tiffany is the child of a failed relationship and marriage, between the two marriages that play by far a larger part in his life.

Yeah, they can never take a win. They always have to take it a little further, like kids exaggerating "Your dad knows the mayor? Well MY DAD is a spy! And he won the lottery! And he can lift a car!"

Obama's former pastor said some dodgy stuff, but the right never really pressed that because it didn't fit with their "Secret Muslim" batshit crazy narrative.

Donald Trump has had a very, very bad morning.

From Donald Trump’s gaffe on veterans and PTSD shows just what an amateur he still is posted by freeper ObozoMustGo2012

During a Q&A session with some veterans, he talked about PTSD and suicide and that while he was sure that everyone in the room was "strong" enough to "handle" it, others weren't.

Yes, that is in context. Video and audio are in the article.

Attempting to equate post-traumatic stress disorder and the military suicide rate with strength is so amazingly out of touch with everything that actually needs to be said about either of those two things that I can't actually summon the right words to tell Trump how much he should get hosed.

Given most of freep doesn't understand anything approaching modern mental health concepts and how deeply seeped they are in the aspects of culture we now call toxic masculinity, I'm sure that just reading this thread is going to really, really piss me off.

quote:

Trump has a point here, not everyone is as “strong” as everyone else and war can take its toll on people

It included a quote from an Army doctor to the effect that even the strongest personality would break after too much time in the front lines with a rifle company. This is just the latest example of the media taking a perfectly fine quote from Trump and unfairly characterizing it. The media have been trending steadily leftward for years. This year, however, they have simply gone over the top.

When Trump said,"a lot of people can't handle it," he meant that some veterans do not have the psychological strength to handle PTSD and need help. He did not say all veterans with PTSD are weak and cannot handle it.

Again, just to make sure that this is perfectly clear, the context of the quote, including Trump's tone of voice, make it very clear that the clause about people not being strong enough to handle it was clearly a hit at PTSD sufferers.

quote:

Well, they aren’t strong and they can’t handle it. Why? Because they have PTSD, they need help and Trump knows this. He also knows the VA is broken. He promises to fix it. Obama changed the rules as to who qualifies for PTSD and thus government $$$$$.

This is why the system has been flooded and the people who really need the care don’t get it.

It used to be that you had to have combat exposure to qualify.

Now half of the cases are sexual harassment PTSD, or I saw a dead body PTSD, or believe it or not, I saw the casket with dead bodies in it and I got PTSD.

The veterans are having a difficult time finding good jobs in the floundering economy are turning to the government for support. If a vet gets full disability it is $36,000 per year tax free.

I am not denying that their are legitimate PTSD cases as I have worked with them. Shame is that while they are in the military the treatment sucks. Until recently it involved giving the soldier a 180 day supply of benzos to pop and get addicted to. Thankfully they have now cut back on them as they are highly addictive.

However, just because someone is a veteran does not mean that they have PTSD. Again, the problem is the same for PTSD as it is for food stamps. It’s become an Obama give away!!!!

From NY Attorney General sends cease and desist order to Trump Foundation posted by freeper DCBryan1

A few days ago, some investigative journalist or another discovered that the Trump Foundation never filed the needed paperwork with the state of New York that registers is as accepting more than a certain dollar amount of donations from the public in a given year. The unregistered limit is like $25k a year, or something. Don't quote me on that.

Speculation was that nothing interesting would happen until after the election, because they're already under investigation by the NY state Attorney General and it'd all just get lumped together with whatever of the rest of their investigation, if anything, unveils. It seems that the AG's office didn't want to wait. The C&D isn't an operational shutdown, it just stops them from accepting any further donations from the public.

From Obama: Republican voters think I'm 'the Antichrist' posted by freeper PROCON

It's a horrible Fox News article that pulls quotes from this interview of Obama in New York Magazine.

Here's the quote with context.

the actual article posted:

It’s convenient for them to present those personal interactions as the basis for why these things don’t happen, but the problem hasn’t been personal interactions. The conversations I have privately with Republicans are always very different than the public presentations that are made of them.

And that goes back to the point I made earlier: They’re looking at Charlie Crist down in Florida. One hug [from me] and he was toast. Chris Christie couldn’t get his presidential race launched — it was basically over before it started — because he was too friendly and cooperative with me in accepting federal aid for a state that had been devastated by a hurricane. They’re imagining the potential problems that arise, so it’s pretty hard for them to publicly say, “Obama’s a perfectly reasonable guy, but we just can’t work with him because our base thinks he’s the Antichrist.” It’s a lot easier for them to say, “Oh, the guy’s not listening to us,” or, “He’s uncompromising.” I understand that, it’s not something that has bothered me personally. In fact, sometimes I tease them about it behind the scenes; I’ll tell them, “Look, if you need some help, me attacking you or you know …” And the times where we have gotten things done, it has been very important for me to, frankly, help them try to manage their base

I'm gonna miss Obama.

Freep won't.

Well this is certainly something.

quote:

My belief is that there are two end times, one that happened in 1939-45 and led to a millennial kingdom, then another end time that will lead to a permanent kingdom.

I realize this is not accepted theology for many, but would say this — all of the events of the world war two era, including collaboration of beast (Nazi Germany) and whore of Babylon (USSR) followed by massive destruction, all came to pass in a very tight time frame similar to the double 3.5 year scenario. The world that then came into being included a state of Israel, a widespread surge of evangelical Christianity, and until the rise of militant Islam, considerable peace and prosperity. To an ancient observer transported forward (and this is how we got Revelations and Daniel) the modern world may have appeared kingdom-like. Then the final resolution of all this will be the “little season” when the chained up beast, dragon and false prophet come out to mount a final and doomed attempt to deny God the conclusive final victory.

In my scenario, Adolf Hitler was an antichrist figure of the first end time. My Babylon theory is bolstered by the fact that the Soviet Union had seven kings and then another who appeared different (Gorbachev) but turned out to be more of the same; then it shattered and disappeared. Perhaps Putin is more of a blend of kingdom and antichrist but in any case, I am not convinced that there is a second antichrist required but just the spirit of antichrist which is very evident in the world today, and of which Obama is a sort of poster child.

Like some of you, I could not accept that he has been quite as powerful or influential as one might expect an Antichrist to be; my question is always whether or not the “beast” is even meant to be a type of Antichrist or whether it refers instead to a state. Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union were about equally beast-like and were symbolized by two vicious beasts, the wolf and the bear.

I note that the current world is very much set up for a sudden appearance of Christ, the mystery of why there are both second coming and final throne imagery and two separate (by a millennium) end times could be resolved by all this and instead of a thousand years, it would be “of the millenium” instead, allowing this era to come to a merciful end much sooner than 2945 A.D. which would be the interpretation literally.

Of what I am more certain is this — Obama is a dangerous and pathological personality and should never have risen to the heights that he did without much more serious vetting which would have ended his bogus career. That’s what many Republicans really believe, I would guess, and in that, they are absolutely correct.

By the way, announcing all this right at the feast of trumpets? Hmm, there’s some more imagery to ponder. The feast of tabernacles begins at the full moon in two weeks. These high holy days are often thought to be likely timing for the end of days.

Freep threads rarely live for more than a few hours, so any polls get posted in new threads. Given that most of the polling is negative for Trump, there's also a disincentive to post them lately.

Even when they do get posted, there's a bunch of unskewing and picking at the numbers and calling it trash and attacking each other.

It’s an oft-asked question to which there is no logical answer. It has something to do with 1: identifying with the “oppressed” or “shunned”, or downtrodden, a reasonably and understandably historically accurate position. Eg; the sense of “common cause”.

But the error, I believe, is an aspiration to righteousness which they believe is to be attained by empathizing with other downtrodden groups. That in and of itself is laudable, but in the process they overlook the notion that most of those downtrodden groups hate Jews even more than those who committed the Jew-shunning in the first place. IOW, they seek this path to righteousness to their own detriment, when the better path IMO would be to act as good examples: as the scientific, industrious, and clever culture-loving people they are capable of being. Not, by any means, that all of them/us are. Bell curve, like anything else.

From this Jewish perspective, this thing about Jews voting 'Rat is an addiction of sorts. No matter how bad the 'Rat pack gets in terms of policy threatening Jewish and Israel's survival and pandering to antisemitic elements within it, there are a good segment of Jews who somehow can't break their Democrat voting habit even though on some level they have to sense that it is self-destructive. Regrettably, not even the presence of a morally and ethically bankrupt Dem presidential candidate with an antisemitic history will change their voting behavior. Addictions defy rationality.

My guess is that Trump will get something like 40% of the Jewish vote nationally
, when that difficult-to-determine number is measured with objectivity and impartiality. (Unfortunately in the past, Jewish voting for the 'Rats has often been somewhat overestimated by 'Rat leaning pollsters.) This will be about the highest percentage of Jewish votes for a Republican presidential candidate in close to a century.

I don't quite get the roulette analogy.

There are three main reasons:

1) So many Jews vote Democrat because so many are ....liberal. Yeah, it’s shockingly that simple. If one supports abortion, the LGBTQXYZ agenda, open borders, multiculturalism, income redistribution in the form of a massive welfare state, strict gun control (and in many cases gun confiscation), etc....then to which party is one going to align oneself?

2) Lib Jews falsely equate nationalism to Nazism, and therefore are reflexively repelled by it. And since Republicans are perceived as having far more nationalistic sentiments than Dems, the resulting equation for them becomes .....the GOP = The Third Reich. That’s a very tough emotional hurdle for them to overcome.

3) Most lib Jews don’t give a rat’s patootie about Israel, although they’ll often (out of guilt) give lip service supporting Her. And these days (after years of conservative Bibi being the PM) a disconcerting number of lib Jews have grown to DESPISE Israel. My dumbazz aunt is one of them.

I’d love to see Trump get 40% of the Jewish vote (like Reagan did in 1980), but I’m afraid it’ll be closer to 20%.

They’re brainwashing their little children and filling their heads with all kinds of wild ideas, and they’re also teaching them that anyone who disagrees with them is a monster. Then the kids go to school in NYC and get the same message from their teachers. That’s how it happens. These people are bullies who think everyone who doesn’t share their feelings is bullying them, and that’s what they’re teaching their children to be too.

I need the Not this Stuff Again guy, on Rosh Hashana too.

The Jacoby quote at the end gets the closest to nailing it. The comfort of secular life, moral equality, evil is guns and global warming.

But as I always do, on the micro, I answer this question like this: each liberal Jew (Jew Lite - they eat bacon and shrimp, they don’t go to synagogue, they love bagels and kugel and a few Yiddish words and call it a day) is kept on the reservation by their friends and relatives. They are brutal if you stray. There is biting sarcasm and ostracism. Pointed, horrible questions like “Are you a racist?” Etc at family gatherings. The pressure to conform to the group is INSANE. And that’s is the real reason.

Liberal Jews look down on the Orthodox. If one of their own lackadaisical Jewish relatives starts to become more shomer Shabbat, more religious, they start to belittle and shun. They want people like them around. It’s like beer drinkers when one of them starts to avoid alcohol. The Jew trying to be Jewish makes them feel bad about their bacon cheeseburgers!

Trust me, I know. I’ve been “that Jew.” It is so difficult to come out of the closet in that community
. I’m about to go to services at a new liberal synagogue here where we have moved. And only because my child goes to their preschool am I a member. The preschool is awesome. But no one there knows I am a - gasp - Trump supporter. And they would all change their feeling aBout me should it be known. And even I, who am bold on many occasions, am feeling like maybe I just don’t want to get into any discussions on politics and be put in the category of evil racist. Maybe I just don’t need those looks, that ostracism right now. It’s hard.

I know black and Latino conservatives go through the same drat thing.

Hoping today the rabbi won’t say anything cringeworthy re politics. I sure miss Dennis’s Prager’s High Holiday services (though he is 100% apolitical at them, you know at least he is a conservative) but being a member here, we have to $ave. High Holiday tickets are expensive.

Because they fear the power of Christians, ridiculous because Christians in the US are about as dangerous as grazing cows.

Unfortunately, many American Jews still believe in their hearts those things (accurately) told them by their grandparents from before immigrating from Europe. Back then, Christians were not as kind as they are now, in the USA. And it's only been 2 or 3 generations since Jews found themselves unwelcome by society in general here in the USA.

But for some reason, it seems that Jews in general seem to have an irrational belief that "the government" will keep them safe. When in so many cases, it's the government that is organized against the Jews.

This isn't an excuse, but it is something of an explanation: Jews tend to have a historically rational fear of other religions, as well as a historically irrational belief that the government will protect them. Plus, an almost genetic "rooting for the underdog," which explains the recent abandonment of Israel, in favor of the palis.

Also there will be forced “Christianization” of Jewish kids in school as well as other utterly irrational statements.

HTH can you counter or answer that kind of ingrained thinking?

Looking at it from my particular Jewish perspective, I would agree that such concerns are irrational. Historical experience tells us that not that long ago we had an evangelical Republican in the White House for eight years, and nothing of the sort happened.

There is much more of a threat of violent antisemitism from three groups that the Democrats pander to - Moslems, radical African-Americans (e.g., Black Lives Matter), and radical Hispanics (e.g., La Raza) - than from evangelical Republicans.

Gee, that sure is weird! I wonder why every immigrant group seems to vote mostly Democrat? Could it be because that's the party that isn't going "gently caress IMMIGRANTS!" at the top of their lungs? Is it possible that maybe if the Republicans embraced immigration more, that more immigrants might vote for them?

Nah they must just all be racist against whites.

From Female Contestants on "The Apprentice" Now Accusing Trump posted by freeper Catsrus

In case you missed this one from the morning's news cycle,

the article posted:

The Associated Press interviewed more than 20 people — former crew members, editors and contestants — who described crass behavior by Trump behind the scenes of the long-running hit show, in which aspiring capitalists were given tasks to perform as they competed for jobs working for him.
[...]
Eight former crew members recalled that he repeatedly made lewd comments about a camerawoman he said had a nice rear, comparing her beauty to that of his daughter, Ivanka.

During one season, Trump called for female contestants to wear shorter dresses that also showed more cleavage, according to contestant Gene Folkes. Several cast members said Trump had one female contestant twirl before him so he could ogle her figure.
[...]
A former crew member who signed a non-disclosure agreement and asked not to be identified, recalled that Trump asked male contestants whether they would sleep with a particular female contestant, then expressed his own interest.

"We were in the boardroom one time figuring out who to blame for the task, and he just stopped in the middle and pointed to someone and said, 'You'd f*** her, wouldn't you? I'd f*** her. C'mon, wouldn't you?'"
