i get dozens of beefs per second on my machine (bash shell in w10)

however i've been running it for the last 20 minutes, fans gradually spinning up, waiting for a "dead beef" and have yet to see one. dunno if the output format even allows for that

every now and then i'll do `sudo find * / | grep whatever` and it'll be fine but sometimes it'll crash my system. this has happened on a number of OS's / i think even across linux / mac. Anyone know what's happening? I can imagine lots of reasons why but I'm wondering if there's a specific one or if it's just what happens when you grep on a bunch of IO FDs or something
