The guy had been trying to walk it back casually for years, too, subtly moving from "I was in one of the towers" to "I was in the vicinity of the towers" to "I was in Lower Manhattan."

I loved when Scott Aukerman brought it up with Kroll (in character as Gil Faizon) on CBB a few months ago. Kroll assumes the disparaging remark about "that guy from The League" is about him at first, then you can hear him gradually piece it together as Scott cackles away. "Oh. OHHHH...No, I don't wanna talk about that..."

Out of all those guys in 2009 when The League began, Duplass would be my last cast choice for "Most Powerful in Hollywood." But Ranazissi would still be my pick for "Most Likely to Lie About 9/11."

I dont like Barandon Wardel but im endeared to him a bit for him behaving the same way i would if i were a guest on Hollywood handbook - laughing like a nerd the whole time and mumbling something about irony poisoning

Ha his laugh started out grating on me, but was eventually redeeming. Was a much better ep than I was expanding.

I mean, it's not a good app and has few worthwhile original shows. But it has tons of great CBB live episodes and a handful of other solid things (two new Superego specials coming up, Superego Classics, Wild Horses) that throwing a few bucks their way for a ton of good exclusive content wouldn't hurt.

Between their US tour, Aussie tour, and UK tour, that's like 30-something live CBB eps alone.

Yeah, their "Netflix for podcasts" is kind of true in a way, that it's a service you only really get for their originals and exclusives.

The 2016 CBB tour episodes were excellent, and Hardcore Game of Thrones is very well done albeit not a comedy podcast.

Has Scott announced future plans for television or film?

I think the tom scharpling episodes are probably a good intro point into HH, people who haven't heard the show should try these

episode 91, where the boys try to fix tom's show: http://www.earwolf.com/episode/tom-scharpling-our-close-friend/
episode 96, the boys try to bury the hatchet with tom, and fix his show some more: http://www.earwolf.com/episode/tom-scharpling-again-our-close-friend/
episode 101, grease knows eggs, where the boys try to sell a show starring tom and engineer cody to podcast bigshot jesse thorn: http://www.earwolf.com/episode/the-grease-knows-eggs-show-with-jesse-thorn/
episode 110 "handbook east," where tom and hayes try to launch the east coast satellite of wolfcool: http://www.earwolf.com/episode/handbook-east-with-tom-scharpling/
episode 114, where hayes and tom address the scandal of the missing episode: http://www.earwolf.com/episode/the-secret-story-of-the-missing-episode/
episode 124, "big apple bible," where tom tries to poach hayes from HH and sean has an adventure while calling in: http://www.earwolf.com/episode/big-apple-bible-episode-1/
episode 129, tom has got zero prospects and is at the end of his rope, so he attends engineer cody's engineer bootcamp: http://www.earwolf.com/episode/engineer-codys-engineer-training-boot-camp-and-school-live/
episode 134, I can't remember what happens in this one, but it's got scharpling and julie klausner, who is probably my second favorite guest: http://www.earwolf.com/episode/far-east-movement-our-favorite-band/
episode 140, I can't remember the specifics of this one either, it's another sean call-in episode: https://www.earwolf.com/episode/sharon-horgan-our-close-friend/

134, Tom and Julie have purchased the movie rights to Hollywood Handbook, visit the show to observe Sean and Hayes so they can get into character
140, Hayes asks Sharon Horgan to review some jokes that Tom had "ghostwritten" for recent episodes

i would also add that listening to the just julie klausner episode is worthwhile, cos i think the tom and julie episode has some callbacks to the hollywood handbook jukebox musical

I can see why people have publicists that tell them what not to say in situations like this though, im sure he was trying to sound sincere but "i beg forgiveness for being so vile" is such a fuckin gross thing to say lol

i like the canon but based on stories he's told about his life, i imagine he drank a lot and was an rear end in a top hat to ladies at a time. know someone who knew him a bit back in the day and that theory seems accurate.

amy nicholson is cool and i hope she doesn't lose her podcast cause her co host was a giant rear end in a top hat irl, instead of just being a giant rear end in a top hat on the podcast.
