Just had an Eden run that was alright until the D4 showed up, and who can resist that thing? I certainly can't, and the diagonal-shooting nails that also whip around and stick to things and explode along with me being immune to explosions really brought it all together. I've had runs that killed stuff quicker, but this one was like driving a drunken bumper car. Who doesn't play every room in the chest? A loadout that's good enough to get there is good enough to beat any room it has to offer*, and they often drop more gold chests with more crazy items for dicking around in endgame. *Except possibly Double-Adversary or Double-Cage. gently caress those rooms.

That's never happening because Keeper's health is based on the ritual of placing pennies on the eyes of a dead person. If they ever let an item increase Keeper's health, it'll be an item that increases the number of eyes isaac has, like Mutant Spider or Inner Eye.

Yeah I get the symbolism, but like most of the rest of the cast they end up as deformed amalgamations of mish-mashed junk by the end anyway. Ok, how about this... Devil Deal items cost coins instead. Only a shitload of coins. Keeper spawns more coins than usual (is there a trinket that does this anyway?) but he instantly vacuums them up so you can't keep coins in rooms for a later date if you take a hit.

One of my proposals for an AB/AB+ item was a Greed-themed collectable that made you stronger or faster if there were loose coins in the room, and also pulled coins towards you like the broken magnet. The descriptive text was "money-motivated". I wonder how hard it will be to make that with the modding tools.

So I may be hosed and have borked the game. I'm doing the "I Rule!" challenge and I'm finally all the way down in the mega satan fight. Except I can't seem to complete it. Whenever I damage his head/hands down to zero he just goes back out of range and then freezes and nothing happens. I've tried exiting and continuing but he does the same thing every time. How do I fix this? I really don't want to have to do this poo poo over.

Did you pick up my shadow from a devil room? There's a bug where the chargers it spawns count as enemies, this makes mega satan (and haunt) bug out and never leave their invincible state as there are active enemies in the room so they don't move on to their next phase

Luckily I knew about the bug and hadn't entered his chamber yet so I just killed ??? instead.

Exiting the game and continuing can work around the bug since the boss fight will restart, so you can just let them kill the charger. Not an elegant solution, but there's something to avoid a soft lock.

Letting hangs respawn and slowly killing the head. Using tnt/bombs, etc

 Today I learned that if you shrink yourself tiny with pills and run up or down the inner ladder in a Crawl Space, you can fit through tiny holes between the tiles.  And you can go quite a ways off the bottom or left edge of the screen, about another screen's worth, judging by how long it took me to get back on the screen. But if you go off the right edge of the screen,  You go into the Black Market, even though the passage to the Black Market isn't present in the Crawl Space.  You can barely see the pixel that makes up Isaac in the middle of the orbitals. Placebo + 48 Hour Energy + any other good pills is awesome, especially combined with the Car Battery to push things just a bit past their limits.

This is probably known, but if you have the Blank Card and the Jera rune, and pick up a battery and use the Blank Card within a split second, the battery you just picked up is still duplicated. I just had a very fun breaking run. Dad's Key got me into Mega Satan the first lap through the Chest, then Forget Me Now to restart at the moment of killing Mega Satan, then the first time I actually used a Get Out Of Jail Free card to get into Mega Satan the second lap.

This trick is called the "black market clip," there's a consistent setup to do it with two bombs, and it's used all the time by racers and speedrunners. I didn't know you could do it with shrinky pills too

I've gotten my girlfriend hooked on this game too, and now she's having all the luck. She's on an Eden run, STARTED with Mom's Knife, triggered I Am Error with Telepills and got Tech X... which apparently stacks ON TOP of Mom's Knife? This has never happened to me in hundreds hours of gameplay. I am jealous (but love that this game continues to throw new wrinkles at the player.)

I've just had the most incredible run with the lost and then Brownie just... I don't even loving know. He just sped around the room like Gurdy Jnr on crack and didn't stop until he wiped me out. loving hell. edit: It's a known bug, it seems.

I had a Host shoot me from its closed state. I got it with a Fear shot when it was open, and it didn't shoot before it closed again. I got close to it and waited for the Fear to expire so I could finish it off as soon as it opened. And when the Fear wore off it shot me in the face without opening. It was the room with three Hosts and a bunch of rocks turning the room into a snake-like corridor that makes all approaches to the Hosts really bad.

Hahah exact same thing happened to me last night. Thank god for Holy Mantle for The Lost. Also found out (the hard way) that the stop watch doesn't slow Hush's hydro-tear attack.

FINALLY beat a Keeper run. All I needed was Dr Fetus, Spoon Bender, Bob's Curse, a bunch of speed-ups, Blank Card and a Strength! So, quite a lot really. The Chest even gave me a Mr Mega.
