If we are talking hurricane's impact on the election wouldn't the hurricane impact Trump's voters more because they are spread out all over the state? Hillary can throw staff at the couple of cities where her supporters are packed in while Trump's nonexistent infrastructure has to run everywhere.

This was posted on my FB feed of a guy practicing "radical empathy" with a disaffected white Trump voter in Ohio. https://extranewsfeed.com/i-listened-to-a-trump-supporter-49a41a9a99de#.29amma1j0 I get that things today are so polarizing and it's impossible to change someone's mind by talking down to them and empathy is the only way to understand someone's point of view but I can't help but think that this approach changes nothing. Maybe you walk away feeling smugly superior for NOT shouting the person down and listening but really what do you do with this information? Tiny Brontosaurus posted:It's not really campaign focused but if you like intersectionality boy do I have the W. Kamau Bell podcast for you: Politically Reactive I've been listening to Politically Reactive and Keeping it 1600. Both are interesting content in their own right and help inform my politics but I don't think either are perfect.

Seriously, look at this map. http://www.270towin.com/maps/Ldpgg Hillarys absolute floor is currently in the 278 without Florida, North Carolina, Ohio, Iowa, Arizona, and Georgia.

Which are heavily red areas, which could actually help Clinton in Florida and maybe even give her Georgia

As a Floridian, could everyone please stop being super callous about this? I have family and friends here. Comments like "well, people are gonna die, but that doesn't matter" don't really further any discourse.

Natural disasters benefit dems (unless the response is a complete gently caress up) because it provides temporary negation to the "government can't do anything right!" truism.

And then when they use it as a political topic, the good people who might have abstained from using it as a political topic then have the choice of staying silent and letting bad people dominate the narrative or joining them in making it a political topic? So why don't we just skip that inevitable stuff and accept that basically anything that occurs anywhere is a potential political topic.
