Stringent posted:isn't that how a contract works? Yes and no. Putting off maintenance on an other part that is not part of the current cycle increases the risk of something going wrong. Naturally if it is something critical it gets fixed, but having to pay extra instead of just fixing it on the spot with your in-house crew can't really be saving that much money for the increased risk along with the time lag by having to fly an empty aircraft away from your hub.

That talk about air purifiers is super weird to read. I live in central euopean mid size city, and the air is mostly super nice. Having an air purifier in your home or workplace sounds like something out of Bladerunner

Since Shenzhen is known as the tech city in China, there are lot of foreign tech nerds and programmers here. I live near one of those software company job areas, so daily I see white guys that are obvious programmers or IT specialists or whatever they are. I'm always surprised to see them, because you would think that all of the tropes of goons would not be present this far from their home countries, but they are. Giant cargo pants, cargo shorts with white or black socks pulled way up, greasy unwashed hair, unshaven faces covered in pimples, humongous Targus laptop backpacks with way too much poo poo stuffed in them, double chins, ponytails, fat as hell or sickly thin, skin white as printing paper, goony pop culture t-shirt or short-sleeve plaid shirt, those ugly brown urban hiker shoes autists like to wear, etc. It's like every goon.jpg rolled into a human and sent out to huff and puff and sweaty profusely in China while the locals gawk and point as much as possible. The few times I have seen these guys with girls, she's always the Chinese female version of him and just as goofy. Tonight I saw several, including one with a graying ponytail past his butt, but I also got to see a rare hunchbacked white girl in sloppy clothes and really stringy unwashed hair, anime backpack, and huge glasses. I thought it was a teenage kid at first, and then I recognized she was nearing her thirties at least. We made eye contact and I think she saw the look of bewildered amusement on my face, so she returned to staring at her pink shoes.

I really loving hate that 5000 years of history and culture thing and how they wave it around like OH LOOK WE'RE SO SPECIAL! loving Hell the Erlitou agriculturalists (they were not the Xia dynasty, there were no kings or emperors or any of that poo poo, the Xia as propaganda babbles about never existed) aren't even 5000 years old, and their culture, early writing and art, while similar in some ways to Shang, Zhou and all the other stuff that came after, are not the same poo poo as modern China at loving all. And you know who else has a 4000 year history of traceable cultural evolution? Central Mexico, Egypt, India/Pakistan, West Africa, most the Levantine Middle East, basically anywhere agriculture was independently discovered. China is not loving special and they need to stop babbling around like fuckheads and acting like they are. Edit: Also, anything a Chinese archaeologist says is bullshit and wrong and that's why they won't let foreigners to research on their sites.

The best part of Chinese celebrations in Vancouver is the immigrant populations have a really good mix of China (mainlanders), Better China (Hong Kong) and Even Better China (Tiawan). You can imagine how well the CCP celebration at city hall is going over in the city, even before you get to all the non-Chinese people wondering why one of their councillors is raising a foreign flag over the city.
