There's actually a "unofficial" sequel to Gross Point Blank called War, Inc. It is not good.

Mark Whalberg for disasters and tragedies from real life. Matt Damon for getting lost in space. Matt LeBlanc for also getting lost in space.

I've always enjoyed the Underworld movies, but for whatever reason, I thought that Charles Dance had already been killed in one of them before, but then I remembered that it wasn't Charles Dance, but rather, Bill Nighy. The more Charles Dance, the better, I say.

I am so sick of Mark Wahlberg making himself the self-appointed mascot of Boston. His savior-complex for the city is even more pathetic than the way Mel Gibson lionizes himself. It's amazing to watch Boogie Nights (as we should each do every night of our lives) and recognize how he basically became the Dirk Diggler in real life. That part where he is all coked up and is threatening to fight Burt Reynolds by the pool was prophetic.

Its just kind of ridiculous that he and Berg are putting out what basically looks like the same movie with a different setting in twice in the same year.

I have such little interest in the topic of the movie though. I'm not trying to insult or diminish the tragedy, I'm just not sure why I'd want to see a movie version of it? It feels too recent and overshadowed by all the other terror attacks we've had all over the world. I'm not usually one of those "I already know what happens, why would I wanna watch" guys since that's an asinine position, but there's just something about this that feels completely uninteresting. I can't place what it is for me. It feels like the sort of topic I'd be interested in visiting if it were like I don't know, Paul Greengrass, and in like, ten years. Not in 2016 with Markie Mark.

I'd almost be more for it if it were an ensemble picture, reflecting on a variety of perspectives and reactions after tragedies like Boston. But Mark Whalberg being super bummed about a thing just makes it seem like misery porn about white people. At best, well intentioned but misplaced.

It was never very subtle to begin with so I hope it doesn't dip down yet another level of subtlety like say, The Office and most American transplants go. From the trailer (which admittedly aint sayin much but this is the trailer thread) it feels like some of the stories might be even more on the nose than they were before but fingers crossed I'm glad it's back That's a bit early to tell I'd say. It's still written by Charlie Brooker, so it could just be the cut of the trailer that sets you off? Fwiw I don't see the problem.

Pretty hard to judge if it's been "Americanized" from a trailer like that. So, yeah, it's double the episodes, but it's still only 6.
