I had mine reboot randomly today. I wasn't even using it. I just happened to raise my wrist to see the time and it was on the apple logo when I did.

I wonder where those crash reports end up. Whether they're somewhere I can view them in Xcode or something..

It only happened once to me (that I know of, though I did have to mysteriously unlock my watch during the day once so maybe twice) but I'm really curious to see what it reports.

I've had two full crashes with my S2 so far. Both when switching watch faces, so maybe complication-related. When's OS 3.1 due, and will there be a version 3.11 For Workgroups?

Even from power reserve mode, my S1 takes a minute or two to boot back up.

EDIT: I was really hoping there'd be a third-party charging puck that uses the lightning cable. Not super keen on shelling out thirty for a travel puck.

Third-party accessories that accept Lightning cables are almost entirely non-existent. I'm sure you can find some here and there, but for the most part, no one bothers since they have to pay licensing costs to Apple to use it.

The switchover from phone-tether to known-wifi when you leave the presence of your phone takes a few seconds.

I feel like mine isn't switching over to Wifi properly. It just crapped out and loses connection if I leave the room.

I feel like it doesn't switch over to wifi until it *absolutely* has to, probably to save battery.

Mine shows a direct phone connection all over my house, but you can tell it's slow and hanging on by a thread a few rooms away because Siri tells me she'll "tap me when she's ready" to start my grill timer then does so 30 seconds later.

How can you tell it has a phone connection vs a Wifi?

I'm guessing my apartment is small enough to where it never switches over. But I swear the speakerphone craps out after like 10 feet. I don't think it did this for the week I had it with my 6+. Maybe my 7+ bluetooth radio is just poo poo.

Anyone else having issues with (a) maintaining a Bluetooth connection between watch & phone, and (b) unlocking macOS via watch?

For (a), it's been happening at least once a day since I bought the Series 1 watch about a week ago. Often requires a simple cycling of the iPhone's Bluetooth radio, but I feel like this shouldn't be a necessity. The first time I noticed this was happening, it was because hours worth of health data was missing from Health.app. Of course, it all pushed through once I reconnected, but still. No outside influences I can think of except occasionally going into another room without my phone, but this doesn't seem to trigger it.

For (b), unlocking only works maybe 50-60% of the time. The watch is securely on (detecting) my wrist and unlocked -- no idea where to go from there. Perhaps tied to the fact that my watch fails to maintain its Bluetooth connection to the phone? It will still fail when the watch & phone are paired.

Really curious to know if this happens for anyone else. I'm kinda suspecting the watch to be at fault due to (b), unless the unlocking process invokes the connection to the phone in some way. Then, it could be a phone issue as well. Things I've tried: rebooting all devices, that's it.

It will use whatever WiFi your phone is already on.

Will have to try it at home then, because it's not working at our office. We have a 'personal' wifi that we login to and it's not handing off to the watch when I turn off bluetooth. Likely that it won't allow a device that hasn't directly authenticated with. It's not one of those splash pages that you get when you login to a hotel but an actual U/P prompt when you connect with a pop-up from the system.

Thanks

Report back on what you find, although I'm particularly interested in the watch app itself. I use the ESPN one right now but don't think it updates quickly enough (or show enough) to make it too useful. I tried The Score but couldn't get it to login and save favorites cause it kept crashing.

I'm supposed to be able to use Siri to initiate a text message to someone on the watch, right? Siri (on watch) doesn't seem to recognize any of my iCloud contacts besides myself/my own card. I tried resetting its sync to the phone and re-pairing it to the phone, no dice. Can I even view my contacts on this thing? The only option in the phone's watch app is "mirror iphone."

edit: cycling contact syncing on my phone fixed it. iCloud...

I've been having intermittent issues with notifications not popping up the past two days. I'm curious if this is a thing. Like I won't get a text haptic or any notification on the watch, but then it's there on the phone. They're nearby each other when this happens too. Two text messages later I'll get a notification and it will work like normal for a while and then repeat missing the notifications.

Also, side note, I never thought I would get used to having something tap my wrist to tell me I've got a message or other notification. I've grown very accustomed to it over the last couple weeks.

I feel like I've been missing a decent amount lately, quite annoying cause I rely on the watch for them since I leave my phone on silent all the time and have vibration turned off.

Yeah I'm surprised at how good the battery has been now that my usage has gone from "new thing play with it constantly" to basic day-to-day usage. I've gone back to sleeping with it on, and it lost like 6% after eight hours of sleep.

I'm kind of just wondering if I can slide the charging puck under the watch while I wear it at my desk at work. I already feel tethered to my desk sometimes, why not make it official?
