After breaking my strict rule of write-in voting for federal-level offices to vote for Obama in his first election, I figured I had learned not to be taken in by someone pandering to my shameful inner idealistic optimist. I never stopped to consider that other poo poo could make me feel like it was important to waste my vote on a candidate from one of the major parties, that I could become so ashamed of, disgusted with, and unnerved by my nation's politics. But hey, it turns out that no matter how cynical I become there's always room below, and some experience that will cause me to go deeper.

I'm sorry that you do not personally like Hillary Clinton but she is neither a child rapist or a friend to the KKK and I think it's disingenuous to act as though being a politician is as bad as that. Sorry that I'm not letting you be self-superior.

Look, the substance of the joke was that either one of them appropriately represents aspects of American society that, in my opinion, are negative and which Americans tend to gloss over in our own minds, to all of our detriment. I can certainly see where you picked up the implication that they're somehow equivalently terrible, and honestly you seem pretty dedicated to sustaining the belief that this is actually what I meant, my attempts to explain it appear to have gone poorly, so gently caress me I guess? Avenging_Mikon posted:You are bad and you should feel bad. I'm honestly interested in understanding what specifically makes you say this, because of course from inside my skull all of this seems internally consistent and non-terrible, if fairly caustic, so if you want to take another, more detailed shot PM me. e: bitcoin bastard posted:how do you feel about fedoras, vaping, and fedoras that can also vape Really? e2:VVV Improbable Lobster posted:Maybe if you had just said that at first instead of your weird waffling I would not have interpreted your post how I did. As it was you sounded like a south park libertarian arguing that both sides are equally bad. Well, first it ruins an already weak joke to have to explain, second I try to make it a policy to consider if not all then at least many of the potential meanings of what others say to me before I respond and tend to reflexively assume that others will do the same despite whatever potential emotional reaction they might have to what I said, so I responded in kind to you lashing out in anger. Therefore, my first attempt at a clarification was actually 50% intended to tell you to gently caress off right back and wasn't very effective at either that or clarification. This is probably the most charged american election ever (it's even spilling into way more than usual) so it's worthwhile to be more clear and direct in your opinion than usual.

Lot of pretty rough stuff in that one. Several deaths, some severe burns on the construction guys, maybe a couple of drownings, lots of maiming - but thankfully not shown very clearly or they cut off before you see the bodies. But you do get to watch a guy at 3:30 who shoots his own hand.

It looks like he has a laser on his gun and was trying to see if it was turned on by shining it at his own hand. I see them at indoor ranges all the time, and unless your batteries are dying you can see the laser all the way to the loving back wall.
