Spermgod posted:Moose too ACH and Cedric were totally misused but they pushed Moose pretty hard. They did so in the face of a large portion of the fanbase rejecting him and did it for nearly 2 years straight. He was featured pretty consistently, and then they didn't try very hard to retain him. Moose is a very weird case and there's definitely better examples of possible racial bias in ROH's booking.

Doesn't explain Jay Lethal, though. Although didn't Delirious say he intentionally put black wrestlers with Veda Scott because he knew it would piss off racists?

They did a bit where Kenny King took a knee like Kaepernick and got beaten up for it so yeah, Delerious is probably a racist

notes on ROH's African American wrestlers: Jay Lethal- been with the company forever, only left because TNA's money was better. 4th longest reigning ROH World Champion. Longest reigning Television Champ Moose- pretty much written off from the jump that he's headed to WWE. Inexplicably ends up in TNA because...? ACH- missed a flight playing pokemon, considered unreliable Cedric Alexander- injuries derailing each push attempt

How African Americans are treated and spoken to in ROH/Sinclair IS an issue. When talents do ultimately speak out it is an emotional type out burst. Whether it is ACH at AAW this weekend, Lio Rush on Twitter two weeks ago or Cedric's speech at PWX a while ago: http://www.cagesideseats.com/2016/8/22/12579112/cedric-alexander-ring-of-honor-nearly-quit-wrestling-video-goodbye-pwx Racism is a complex issue in a zillion ways. ROH should be commended for how they pushed Jay Lethal but at the same time it doesn't mean they can't be a racist company nor does it absolve them of discriminating on the grounds of race with others. It is a heavy accusation to make and I don't raise it lightly at all. I recognise that I am not the ideal spokesperson on the matter but the Wrestlers themselves would likely face repercussions career wise if they spoke out about it fully. The situation sucks.

I wonder how much of the issue lies with Delirious' personal prejudices or SBG's reallllly sketchy corporate politics. I was looking to move from freelance production to a more stable tv news gig a year back and SBG had an opening, but their politics and how they push it onto employees pushed me away from applying.

Anyways that's one issue with ROH there's some Caucasian as gently caress dudes leaving too. Hyped for the next few months as everyone in Wrestling slowly moves to Florida for WWE or to try and get into WWE.

Well it makes perfect sense that heels would do a protest when really they have nothing to protest, they're heels because Kaepernick actually does and they're basically mocking him by stealing a legitimate protest for their imaginary heel gripes but of course yeah, people are going to boo it because AMERICA DAMNIT regardless of the intent

I think its in poor taste and adds nothing to ANX. But I'm sure Roque can illuminate us on why this is a solid booking decision.
