cyclical posted:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edvpnfvmEYU&t=65s It's really surreal seeing someone from your school days become internet famous, like I still remember Gavin as a little dweeby kid from school with funny hair and here he is a dude from small-town Oxfordshire living it up in the USA playing videogames for a living with millions of subscribers following his every move. Schadenfreude's on me I guess, should've invested in a slow-motion camera instead of a degree, then perhaps I wouldn't still be stuck in the shires earning gently caress all as Brexit approaches

ratbert90 posted:The real Schadenfreude is them having overpriced lovely "need for seat" chairs instead of proper Steel Cases. It's crazy how effective DXracer's marketing has been. They gave free ones to all the right people and now everyone that starts a twitch stream thinks you need one to be taken seriously as a gamer.

Is that why that caught on? Of all the embarrassing things about being "a streamer" those loving chairs are the most embarrassing.

we were talking about them in SH/SC the other day. They emulate racecar seats, so there's no lumbar support. There's very little horizontal g-force at a desk, so the bucket shape is useless. They do make one with RGB LEDs, however. Popular conspiracy is that they give them to youtubers, which is how they're everywhere. Buy a real ergonomic seat (even the ikea ones are good) not a 2 Fast 2 Furious gamer throne. edit: haha they have their own reddit modded by staff. Here's #2 alltime post: https://www.reddit.com/r/dxracer/comments/4pm2pd/appearance_of_dxracer_chair_after_using_it_for_25/ well why not has a new favorite as of 16:14 on Oct 12, 2016 |

Man that's horrific. One moment you're surrounded by delicious food. The next you're dying helplessly in a pretty brutal way. The lovely thing is that apparently still happens to people (including kids) in grain elevators all over the corn belt.

ElGroucho posted:pigeons are pretty stupid, I tell you hwat I was eating dim sum at a restaurant in the same building as my workplace and as I was walking out to my car there was a huge flock of pigeons milling about in the parking lot. They were pecking at some poo poo on the ground and a huge work van approached the flock. The birds slowly moved to the side as the van inched forward but one pigeon was going to town on the poo poo on the ground and it got popped by the van. I heard its bones crunch and everything. The van continued on and the pigeons came right back and started eating the fresh corpse of their buddy.
