alright ill respond to some real time responses. we shall see if this leads to me breaking my lovely gimmick

im so glad i instinctively refused to invest emotion in the democratic primary but that thread seemed like a nice fun place for folks w good beliefs

this lovely gimmick has gotten a LOT more fun since jesus turned the globe into an apple bong

on the one hand if i read every post ill be like the most pathetic repository in the history of facts, which is a distinction i desire; on the other hand, i skim a lot and forget poo poo so i wont even get that. and yet i am tiresome

i cant wait to see the baloogan character evolve. we all have a little bit of baloogan inside of us - or maybe baloogan has a little, microscopic bit of us under his fingernails, in a place that he can never wash away no matter how hard he tries

ok now [whatever kanye said before he was incredibly rude to the girl named taylor, that reference] but ima blow up at something i vaguely think you said like a week ago now about that thing where the people with the shortest line split algorithm pretend they solved the problem of political geography, which i think you and karl barks (not sharks i think????) were arguing in favor of like 300 pages ago (someone with DD in their name was arguing against, i see you br0), sorry in advance

*ahems*

any one of the million mindless algorithms one could formulate that seem simple and therefore somehow ideal??? brings to the table zero advantages compared to the solution of 'let non-partisan experts draw the maps', which approximately every district-drawing polity in the world except ~47 of our states and like loving malaysia have figured out

political geography has more than one relevant variable, jesus - let's take race as an example 'ignore every relevant fact' districting reform would castrate the voting rights act more effectively than the roberts court could and is therefore an arrow in the quiver[full] of white nationalists

the solution to districting sadness isn't complicated. there are people with actual knowledge who aren't employed by political parties - just let them draw good (note: not perfect) maps that are in compliance with laws protecting minority representation. good lord almighty give me the strength to tolerate my own tediousness

ok enough of that back to the grind

i like ur gimmick but

1) only when u quote me
2) ur never going to be a post count superstar like this

just consider this to be the cycle where you learn the true secret of why nobody on any side of the aisle wants anything to do with the fringe left

it's also going to be a tough pill to swallow but white millennials are as conservative as GenX and went +10 for Romney. When you shrug aside the overarching narrative that millennials are super liberal as a whole it all makes a lot more sense. That said, they're voting Johnson instead of Trump because lmao he's just that repugnant

Stein is a dumpster fire of a candidate. Every real leftist hates working with her because she's a grandstanding glory hog that goes into hibernation three out of every4 years

stein is not qualified to be president.

bernie sanders is.

johnson, at least, has actually governed, which imo qualifies him to be president.

like thats why i dont get about the fringe left (even if im basically a part of it). you have to choose someone that is actually qualified to run office and you need to start from the ground up. its also easier to change a party through populism (which is what happened to the republicans lmao) than to invent a new one.

lesson: do not mainline all of the populism in the whole world all at once

and there are bad kinds of populism. in fact most populism is bad because it's just diff ways of say ethno-nationalist authoritarianism

The thing that marked my divorce from defending the misguided passion of BoBers was when the talking point became washing away decades of work and getting heads cracked and dragged behind pickups that led up to the quick legislative reversal on gay rights. That was gross

yeah i dont think anything will be solved overnight, but i hate a lot of what the democrats do right now because they're like "well uh we'll move the needle ever so slightly to the left barely" and then the republicans stomp their feet and don't move ground, which leads to many of our safety nets being destroyed. the left isn't setting their price high enough from the get go, and democrats loving suck at actually fighting for their issues.

basically the point is to improve political negotiations and actually win elections to me. blue dogs get wrecked because they don't run on appealing to things people actually loving like but instead what they think people like.

also money in politcs etc etc
