There's a part where the author is recounting a bunch of names and poo poo for some battle or another, and she literally apologizes to the reader because she fell asleep while doing so. That and the way she talks about her father add a really personal quality you don't often see in historical sources.

If you give military access to Oman or Tims they might sort it out for you, but I imagine you'll have to be allied for them to bother, which will obviously stunt your growth, which isn't ideal... but worth a shot instead of just restarting, maybe

Oh snap, I didn't even know this was an option. Only 1k troops at a cost of 10 Military Power - they still got worked from eating an attacker penalty

It's early enough I think I might as well restart and try not to lose my army in an alliance war this time. Thanks though!

I recently 'discovered' that fleet basing rights expands merchant range and am experimenting with that n_n

I thought that was the case in Vicky 2? Monarchies use the same flags whether they're Absolute, Prussian or Constitutional

Hey I started playing Vicky 2 again and I'm wondering if we are still waiting on Vicky 3?

I think Vicky 2 is a superb game with all the detailed information you actually need to know to play it right buried in some wiki some wiki article and no where in the game itself which kinda makes introducing people to it a non starter.

I'm really excited to see a crack at Vicky 3, especially in light of some of the ideas on Hoi4. I'd love to see an even more fleshed out peace conference system that can allow for bilateral negotiations in the treaty (except in the case of great wars, maybe)

It's a game you need to play slow and pause a lot to evaluate what's going on because if you speed 5 it you can go through all 100 years with nothing happening. You have to learn the systems then take the time to make sure you engage with them. A lot of the time it can feel like you have no control over what's happening compared to other games but you do have the tools needed (with some party's in power more than others) but you have to put in the work.
