Shadow Warrior 2's weapon arsenal feels like it comes out of a mod, and I mean that in the best possible way. I'm talking like Project Brutality for Doom or Ballistic Weapons for UT04, where you're given access to a huge number of ever-escalating guns and it's up to the player to figure out what they like and don't like. While there's obviously a lot to be said for a pared-down, ultra focused list of firearms--see this year's Doom for example--I've got a real soft spot for the kitchen sink approach when it's executed so well.

Agree with this 100%. It does feel like Russian Overkill or something. :getin:

This is basically demonsteele for doom but with modern production values.

What weapon wheel are people rolling with so far? My go-to has been:

1. Lil' Wang
2. Bow and arrow
3. Nailgun w/ split projectile upgrade
4. Shotgun
5. Akimbo revolvers
6. G36
7. Automatic grenade launcher w/ turret upgrade
8. Chainsaw

I admit I'm not very far, but so far I haven't found a use for the smith-something pistol, smg and the Deck-ard feels pretty weak. I've been running Blades of Z-something, Bow and Arrow, Shotgun, Skeleton Gun, revolver, genade launcher which all own though. I think I have some stuff between like #7-9 but it's just whatever I left assigned there because it's too annoying to press those keys on a keyboard and changing with the wheel in middle of combat is kind of risky

4. Shogun or Boomstick (Nothing will stop me from onehanding a sawn off and blasting faces off multiple enemies off)
5. Bows or Spearguns
6. King Skeletor or Triple-6
7. Monsoon (Rocket Launcher)
8. Razorback (Chainsaw Katana) or the Chainsword

VVV Edit: They are loving amazing for vanish shenanigans. A fully charged sting with a Chainsword with vanish does an absurd about of damage.

On steam, where the link is. If you check the website logged out it says $40, but if you log in with the actual app it should say 10% off?

Oh, maybe that's it. Weird that it doesn't seem to mention anything... I'm trying to google around and I can't find any fuckin info on what this is about. Weird.

Still its a steal even at $40.

They hit enemies multiple times per swing which makes them real good if you're trying to inflict an element on an enemy or doing one of the special moves for bigass damage.

I also prefer the chains for fighting larger enemies due to the multiple hits.

I got myself the doom double barrel shotgun and installed the mod that let me fire both barrels at onces.

It's insane, but it overheats after every firing and needs to cool down.

Yeah the cooldown thing is just what makes me not want to use that mod. I just overloaded mine with acid and melt, both figuratively and literally, faces off when I invade my enemy's personal space.

Thanks. Confused as hell because I was even searching for "shadow warrior 2" "october 20" and coming up with nothing. I bought SW1 through GOG. :gonk: The $5 doesn't make or break the purchase, but I'm using Steam wallet funds from selling off my CS:GO inventory and would like to stretch it as long as possible.

Yeah. The chain hits don't do as much raw damage as the main attack but if you've got an element on it does do the full effect.

Keep in mind that only the chainsword does this, the Warrsaw's alt fire just turns on the chain and lets you adjust the cutting angle yourself for artful demon-carving.

a storm is coming...

I'm finding I REALLY like charged shots for general everyday use, but recently I had a ton of fun adding three split projectile upgrades onto that automatic grenade launcher that increases its firing speed for however long you're firing it. It's the most inefficient loving thing, but I can create an insane carpet of explosions with it and that's worth everything.

I'm not a huge fan of turret mode guns though. Seems kinda janky to use. Might be worth it for boss fights I guess?

They're super great if you're getting overwhelmed by a crowd, but they are a little janky to use and you can't use that gun yourself until you un-slot the gem.

But just find some machine gun you're not using (before long we'll have tons) and its a pretty nice way to drop a buddy to help thin the herd if you're getting chased around.

It'll fit in both. You have to have a free slot for a weapon for it to show up on the menu, and your sawn-off is probably full.

What's the gem you're trying to put into it called? There are two multi-shot gems, one for multi-barreled weapons that fires all the barrels at once, and one for everything else that consumes double ammo to fire 2 shots at a time.

i think a mild complaint i have is that 75% of the enhancements are crap and there's no reason to use them when chances are you'll have better things sitting around. it's not particularly an actual issue as much as it's 'i wish there was less clutter in the inventory'
