Watching the new Black Mirror, but I just find it... Frustrating. I had the same problem with the first two series. I want to like it, but it's always too heavy handed and lacking subtlety, and the kind of things they poke with their satirical stick are already somewhat to me.

(thumbnails, click through for huge) Given the fact that it's an FSJ and you seem interested I recommend you buy it no matter how much of a basket case it is. It looks pretty solid from here, but I can't be certain. It's not exactly hard to dump whatever drivetrain you want in those things and they're really pretty simple with a solid suspension, the drivetrain and powertrain was mostly used in other things as well so you should be able to find stuff on rockauto no problem. The only really rare stuff is the sheetmetal, glass, interior parts, marker lamps, turn signals, etc. Those range from NLA / "go on ebay and fight for NOS parts with everyone else, scrub" to "crown automotive is making reproduction parts now!" depending on the whims of crown auto and how much we've been able to convince them we want to spend money. ZMJeeps does some repro sheetmetal stampings and patch panels now but they're nowhere near as comprehensively covered as the C/K trucks you can basically shotgun together off LMC and simply build yourself a new body.

I have seen a new level of gently caress knuclery today. Some cockgoblin at a harley dealership used an impact to put a customer's air cleaner cover back on and mangled the threads in the process. The tips of the threads were actually visually bent when I put the thread gauge on the bolt to check the thread pitch. And of course its some fancy fuckoff bolt that only harley uses. Fortunately 10 minutes with a thread file and a die solved the issue and I didn't have to eat a return on a day where we've had hours of dead time between customers. And I gained a couple of like customers. But still, how loving lazy do you have to be, just use a loving ratchet.

Dammit that stupid 524td is cursed I swear. Dropped it off for a head gasket since dumb and dumber (brother and his wife) overheated it several times. -Find out the head is cracked to hell which isn't a surprise the M21 is known for cracking heads if overheated at all. -Buy a spare motor said to be running a couple years ago, head is cracked even worse. -Order a good head on ebay, tiny cracks forming but it pressure tests so buyer won't give any refund. They also packed it like poo poo so it suffered damage. Weld head and it's good. -Install head, set timing and get it running so go to put everything back together...radiator, overflow and several hoses are junk from repeated overheating -Order new radiator on ebay ($461) it shows up with shipping damage In happier news I towed the E21 home today after getting sick of waiting for the shop to figure out wtf is going on with my brakes. Took 6+ hours but it's home. I even lucked out any my brothers lovely truck didn't give me any issues the whole time! Also that 'new' Linux vulnerability that popped up...oh that made out day at work fun. NitroSpazzz fucked around with this message at 00:54 on Oct 22, 2016 |

Oh man.... a "natural/organic" grocery store by me has stuffed chicken breasts (my favorite is chicken cordon bleu) on sale for $2.99/lb. And they're loving huge, a little over a pound each. I hate handling raw poultry in general, so having them trim and stuff them works for me, especially at that price. Grabbed a few of them, have one in the oven now. Along with a potato... and I just started steaming some broccoli.

I went to the 4wd show and walked out with an order for twin ARB air lockers for the landcruiser... Only $1800 poorer for supply only... which is funny because my housemate literally paid $1720 about 2 weeks ago for a single air locker and we dropped the diff center off to the shop!

Feeling loving miserable too, body aches and chills. I always wind up getting sick when there's a sudden change in the weather. It's in the high 40s outside right now. Two guys, kids, really, decided to cheat the system by checking into every talk, every room, every event. We removed their logins and when they came down, they either played dumb and stuck to it, or displayed a distinct lack of ethics. Basically "we wanted to win, we gamed the system, there were no explicit rules, what's the problem?". We tried explaining that an infosec con is not Blackhat or DefCon, but no. Still couldn't understand what they did was wrong.
