When you 100% color splash's museum you unlock art that shows they at some point planned to go back to the Yoshi's Island artstyle, use different toads, have a unique final boss and more. At some point they decided gently caress that and threw it in the trash so whatever.   etc

My girlfriend's first game was 3d world, she loves playing as toad but was very unhappy to find out that "toads" are a generic thing and are used as placeholders for like everything in Mario games. She feels it's very disrespectful to Toad and he should be a unique character.
