Art deco or maybe art nouveau I guess? It's actually pretty cool, it's a former shortwave radio installation built in 1918 in the middle of what is now a national park (cos there was less interference there). A small town, also called Radio Kootwijk, grew up around it. It's not used as a radio transmitter any more but it's not abandoned either, when I was there they were setting up for a concert. I didn't get to go inside but I bet it's a cool venue.

My last night in Kyiv, I decided to finally get a shot I'd been meaning to take for a while. it was down a fairly quiet street directly towards the dome of the Verkhovna Rada (Ukrainian Parliament) all lit up at night. I set up my tripod, got everything ready and then moved aside for a car to come past me, he rolled past, went to turn out of my frame and t-boned some dude coming the other way right in front of the gates. So obviously he was stuck there right in the centre of my shot, the police turned up and 2 hours later they were still there arguing about it and loving up my last good opportunity to take that picture.
