At the end of everything, hold onto anything

You can do that in Skyrim with some stealth perks as well. Basically, stealth attacks do double damage by default but there's a perk that ups it to 7 or 9. With a good bow you basically have a railgun when firing from stealth.

and that was nothing compared to the 15x sneak damage you could do with daggers which, when paired with the dark brotherhood 2x sneak damage gloves, could get up to 30x damage for a sneak attack. The level 100 sneak perk made it so if you crouched you'd be invisible for a second. This meant you could run up to dragons, crouch and ohk them with a dagger

Been playing Color Splash, and it's actually a pretty funny game that got a few laughs out of me so far. I stole a washing machine from a laundromat and wave after wave of enemies came in chiming in how I've ruined their clothes, the last one claiming if it wasn't for his sunglasses, he'd be naked. Enemies also chat during fights, I've run across a goomba who's come to "avenge his family".

You can also summon enemies as partners for one battle, I don't think its intentional but Boo's attack by slapping enemies and it reminded me of the good old days.

Game still has a few problems Sticker Star has, so I can't say I would recommend it to everybody but it feels a lot more balanced - I've yet to run out of cards, I'm constantly swimming in money to buy more cards.
I have come across a few instances where I probably would have died without a "thing" but the game actually gives you a heads up instead of just having you walk into a boss fight to die and there's a toad that gives you a hint of what you'll need in the next area.

Persona 3 Portable: Trying the version of the game with a female main character for the first time. She does an impatient little foot-tap at the start of battles as you are getting your command menu, which I like. I don't like that you're locked to just one weapon class, but at least the critical attack animation is pretty cool (even when you're swinging a lacross stick rather than a spear.)

wolfenstein: the new order

I like how open the level design is in the game. it's not fully open world but the levels are large enough and there's some areas that offer more than one approach to an encounter. stealth is pretty simple, but it's an option if you don't feel like run n gunning. one area early game requires you to fetch a bomb to breach the enemy's base. usually you'd have one blast site but the game gives the option of going through the front gate or in a room that links to the basement. it's not deus ex but it's cool that the game is willing to offer some options without signposting them too hard.

also I love that they brought back armor and that killing armored enemies drops armor pieces for you.

I love that it's incredibly easy to unlock the ability to display all the collectible items on your in-game map, it makes what should be tedious padding into a non-issue and encourages clever, stealthy play.

The tap/idle game Eggs Inc has two mechanics that I don't see often:

- The first is its IAP purchase mechanic. You can buy chunks of Golden Eggs for increasing amounts of money like most games, but it also has a Piggy Bank mechanic. Every time you do a bit of research or purchase an upgrade, one Golden Egg will be added to that piggy bank, which you can pay 3bux to crack open. Because you're always buying research with basic currency every time you research, this can add up to many thousands of Golden Eggs each time you crack it open. I've dropped a significant money on this game because of how easy it is to get what would be 20+ bucks of IAP for 3 dollars a pop. The developers get money, I get through the game a bit faster, and we both benefit.

- Eggs Inc is a tap game, but it supplements it with a simple hold-down-the-button thing that a lot of tap games don't do. I get it, it's a Tap Game, not a Hold Down The Button Game, but it's fun to not have to tap constantly.

Now I really like how well Egg Inc handles its extremely generous IAP purchase mechanic, as it makes some people think they are throwing stones instead of what they really are throwing.

Dicking around in GTA 5 and I accidentally ran into a woman in a bikini smoking on the beach and knocked the cigarette out of her hand. After telling me off I then watched her reach behind her, pull another cigarette out of her rear end, put it in her mouth then reach into her rear end again and pull out the lighter. Lit the cig then reached back one more time to put the lighter back in her rear end.

Speaking of Amalur a few pages back, but one of my favorite things is the hilariously unintentionally broken crafting system, similar to Skyrim's. One of my original builds was guaranteed to crit on first hit due to skills and had the following gear:

It kinda made the game unfun when I could OHK the boss characters.
Tales of Maj'Eyal has a Stealth tree, which is normally only available for Rogues and Shadowblades. The fun thing about the tree is the skill Shadowstrike, which makes any attacks you do from Stealth auto-crit and deal extra crit damage, and Unseen Actions, which lets you make a roll every time you do things in stealth to stay stealthed.. If it's a regular attack there's a detection roll to see if it crits, but it's an automatic crit even if you break stealth when using a spell or mindpower.

Naturally, Rogues have no magic abilities, and Shadowblade magic is used for making them better at stabbing, though they do have one offensive spell - Illuminate, which lights up an area and at higher levels blinds and deals a small amount of damage. It is possible to beat nearly the entire game on the strength of Shadowstrike Illuminate.

What really can be fun is that some items let you use abilities, like a pair of gloves made from a dragon that let you use the Fire Breath skill. These abilities will also trigger Shadowstrike. One of the most entertaining runs of ToME I've done was what I called an Itemancer, a Rogue who maxed out stealth and crit damage and used as many items with skills on them as possible. It ended up being impressively versatile, and while not as powerful as many other characters, it was still a blast to play.

I can tune a fish.
I complained about Prototype 2's iffy writing (and some other stuff) in the sister thread, but outside of that the gameplay is pretty great and it's clear they actually cared about the game thanks to a lot of the little stuff they added in.

One of the very nice perks you can get is bulletproof skin - small arms fire is a constant bleed on your health otherwise. But it not only stops you from taking damage from bullets, it actually makes them ricochet off of you, which can then hit enemies.

And despite my qualms with the writing, this side mission made me smile:

One thing I liked in Prototype 2 was that collectibles give off a little sonar ping on the map screen, so instead of combing the whole city for that last audiolog you can just look at the Map and wait for the ping to get a rough idea of where it is.

P2 is almost always installed on my system because it is just SO much fun to screw around. Saints Row 4 is a good time except that it gets less crazy and wild the higher your notoriety. The big demon lieutenants are a threat for about three hours of them game and then just serve to end your rampage when you slaughter them.

Prototype? Nah, son. The military does everything aside from nuking the city to stop you. When you're done and well-fed, you grab some civilian, run to the top of a building and take over their appearance. Easy peasy.

After picking it up again, I really like how Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate makes its jumping attacks and mounting SUPER useful and easy to pull off.

It would've been really easy to just make it a situational thing that's useful in a few places they designed for it like most games do, and that would've probably been fine. But instead they made the way more fun choice of being so generous with jumping attacks that you can literally pull one off and mount an enemy by leaping off a knee-sized step. As long as you're technically jumping from a higher part of the ground than your target is on, you're good.

As a player that constantly looks for dumb niche ways to get a leg up in fights, I appreciate that they gave me one this fun and useful.

In MH Generations they almost become too powerful - you get a 'style' which allows you to essentially jump at will. Most of my battles don't even involve me attacking the monster until I'm airborne or they're toppled. And because you can jump off of attacks if you time it well, I can get through a lot of tougher fights that typically would've been drat difficult for me otherwise, without even losing a life, or whatever they're called (revives?)
