If the Four Devas of the Mountain were supposed to be a big thing, it'd make sense for one of them to be a Youkai Sage, a voice of authority in Gensokyo and probably responsible in part for the Barrier, (Do we even need to spoil this any more?) but Suika and Yuugi don't really fit that idea very well. If Kasen really is one of the Big Four, she'd fit the role perfectly. In retrospect, Yukari and Suika clearly met through Kasen.

Actually, VFiS is a solo effort. Well, plus ZUN and Makoto Hirasaka and presumably all their editors and assistants. I do all the scans and translation stuff on my own anyway.

So uh, where should I look to read up on the story of the series? I figured there wasn't much to it because the games don't seem to have much talking, but reading Forbidden Scrollery there seems to be quite a lot of worldbuilding, and as much as I'd just play through the games I'm only making slow progress.
