Captain Baal posted:Nah for real though, VI is alright, but I don't care a lot for its second half. Out of all the Square RPGs at the time that used that structure, I'd say FFVI was probably the worst at it. It throws a lot at you, not all of it's easy to figure out at all, rewards and difficulty are wildly disparate, and the final dungeon is so easy you honestly might actually be doing Kefka a disservice by actually using the World of Ruin to prepare for him. For what it's worth, the order of quality for games handling that structure, starting from the worst, goes FFVI > FFVII > FFV > Chrono Trigger.

spotlessd posted:"Half" according to the director, who's been saying the first 20 hours are open world and the last 20 are (supposedly) an actual Final Fantasy game. Your complaint was that the opening area was boring, you do realize there will be more zones and locations than that in an open world game, right? You're jumping to some massively stupid conclusions.

For all you WoFF players, don't forget that you can change the normal battle theme in config. Which themes are available depends on how far you are in the game and what champions have been unlocked. Example: once you have Tifa, you can change the regular battle music over to the FF7 battle remix. One more tip: Abilities on mirage boards that don't have a white frill around the border will be usable in all forms of that mirage. i.e.: Learning Blizzara from the medium Mishiva form will also allow you to use it in the smaller Bablizz form, so long as it's the same mirage. However, Diamond Dust is exclusive to the XL form. Varance fucked around with this message at 03:02 on Oct 30, 2016 |

I'm fairly sure he's just a lovely troll though, given that all of his complaints about what he's seen of Final Fantasy XV can apply to virtually every previous game in the series besides XIII. How is it so far? I played the first one for awhile and it was enjoyable aside from the "these people can't die or you fail the mission, also they're exceptionally retarded" parts you'd get to in the story. Fighting a dozen or so Frieza henchmen in their ship in Namek while Gohan and Krillin competed to see who could kill themselves the fastest almost made me stop playing it entirely.

It's a lot better mechanically but pretty half-assed in terms of new content. Less super armor, less suicidal escort missions, better gameplay, but you're otherwise basically doing the same stuff you did last game.

I'm done. I'm loving done. My work here? Done. I can't beat that. I could painstakingly describe Dissidia in every minute detail, in chronological order, and it still wouldn't be as good. I'm just. Done. Wrap it up, stamp it, mail to Square on Express Delivery, it's finished.

Just double checking, someone mentioned that you can get the baby elementals in the Nebula in World of Final Fantasy. I went to that location and I found Zapt right off the bat (I love this lil guy!!!) but I haven't really found the others. Just like, a million goddamn Zapts. The others are here right or am I missing something? Also is Yuguru (Tama recolor) here? I just noticed I had it's Prism and I don't remember seeing it ever outside the tutorial. E: Is there a Wind elemental here too? I wanna make sure I clear this place out before I leave ThisIsACoolGuy fucked around with this message at 23:14 on Oct 30, 2016 |

The weirdest thing about the Dance Party in WoFF is that Lightning is in her FFXIII design but in the actual game she's in her LR design. Not sure why that happened except "last minute change after CGI made."
