So, yeah. Everyone's an idiot and assumes Zoss accidentally handed off his Key of Kings to Allison instead of Zaid, but it was actually intentional, right? I'm not missing something there?

I'll need to reread the arc, but her thinking that the key's meant for Zaid and her wanting to use and manipulate Allison aren't necessarily mutually exclusive.

It could also be the double-wraparound fakeout where it turns out Zaid actually is the Successor and Zoss is just helping Allison along to get the key to him, but that seems a little unlikely and a lot lame.

It's either the AL-YS-UN thing or that whoever translated the Prophecy of the Successor is a massive gently caress-up. Or could be Elder Scrolls style where you can just go through the motions and vaguely fit into the prophecy's checklist of demands and have it work out for you.

Even if Zoss meant for Allison to transfer the key, it would only be proper in this setting for her to take the throne herself anyways.

When Alison was repeating "The secret names and voices of god" her key flares, and do I see the first sputterings of a crown briefly forming above her head?

I'll be honest, from the setting, I kind of expected martial arts and breathing exercises to be the 'standard' way of being immortal.

Wouldn't put it past Maya to be using that method. It's just most of the 7 have weird bodies either due to circumstance, or species. Mottom was probably just too messed up emotionally to Look Good and Feel Fine without peaches.

What you actually have is the scabbard open part way from the top down so you can pull it out and turn it.
