GunnerJ posted:Apparently they used a compressed format that some say sounds worse, I dunno. I don't notice, but I tend to not pay too much attention to the sound since it's pretty average. you guys wanting to run Open Cities might want to reconsider, I had CTDs during the Mirmulnir part, and when I uninstalled it the problem was gone, only running the Achievement mod and SKYUI that someone posted in this thread. Too bad too since Whiterun actually ran smoother while that mod was installed somehow.

Reddit has the scoop on it. Side by side, I can tell the difference and it is worse, but it's not like "all noises have been replaced with 128kbps .mp3 renditions" worse.

I look forward to the Skyrim HD Audio Pack DLC.

And if you somehow got it in you to fix it NOW, supposedly you could just extract the vanilla Skyrim_All_Noises.bsa, repack it into SSE shape and just truck along as well as it always has.

Dumb Question: what are some recommended mods for the xbone version? Besides the unofficial patch. I don't know what the quality control is like for Bethsoft's console game mods, but I'd rather not test drive complete garbage if I don't have to.

So how do you fix the dirty/burnt face bug? My vampire character has it and goddamn does it look weird. I know you can delete or replace a file, but I have no idea if the old Skyrim mods that do that will work. I can't find a fix on the special edition nexus either.

I've been having a great time dark soulsing it with a puny mage and maximum frostfall. Skyrim is genuinely threatening, it's great. Also The 3d sound mod with Immersive Sounds is amazing.

I'm not asking to sound contrarian - this all just seems so unnecessary.

It runs like a dream and has tons of potential. As others have said it's just a matter of waiting for SKSE. But yeah your average experienced mod user is going to have a set-up that already has Skyrim looking better than Bethesda's enhancements, so if you're itching for a full modded playthrough right now I wouldn't bother with SSE for a couple months.

I'm hoping that the sound bug I've been having with directional audio in Skyrim is fixed (since it was absent in FO4), because it's really loving annoying when dialogue cuts out mid-sentence because you turned your head for a second. Other than that, I'd at least want SkyUI in some form. dwarf74 posted:Yeah, I had to use this, which we talked about a bit above, because the default faces are still really ugly. That was a poorly-phrased question, but I've been dipping my toes into the available mods after years of not playing and was remembering some of the myriad minor changes I used. One of which was adding crossbows to regular bandits, but the available SE leveled loot list mods seem to be more about putting crazy enchanted stuff on everyone and not small tweaks.

GunnerJ posted:Altered from what? Dawnguard and Dragonborn did not add some of their new, general purpose equipment/items to level lists outside their own content. So for example, you wouldn't find Nordic weapons outside of Dragonborn NPCs/areas. And to answer the question. I don't know. I found a Bandit Chief the other day sporting Carved Nordic armor pieces at Greenwall, north of Riften. Bunch of the NPCs there were rocking nordic weapons. So maybe? But maybe it was just the Unofficial patch. It was one of the points way back when the unofficial patch was split between the DLCs. Merging leveled lists would require separate patches for each combination, which wasn't really practical. Enter the unofficial legendary patch, and now Special Edition patch. But maybe beth did merge them.
