I moved to the UK with my Colombian/Italian wife, lol. As you may imagine they weren't too happy. My mother is convinced I'm selling drugs now and will definitely end up in jail. Oh yeah did I mention they don't believe homosexuals, drugs, and prostitution existed anywhere in the USSR? I don't know how prevalent that belief is among all Russians but it's completely bizarre

Wouldn't be the first time, and won't be the last. It's not vital. It's important in the sense that I'd be pissed off if I were suddenly banned from having cable TV and had no option to replace it but the local public TV station who only cover boring poo poo like Prarie Home Companion... (That is sarcasm, btw.) I encounter a lot of Russians in online games. They would likely be angry if they couldn't play them anymore. Overthrowing? No. Annoy them into electing someone else, or proving to them that such a thing is impossible through authoritarianism? That'd be my aim. It'd cause unrest hopefully at the very least.

So basically Marvel hired a guy who does erotic comics and asked him to draw a cover and this was what they got. Rather than go "gee, maybe that's not the best choice," they just ran with it. Marvel are idiots. And yet, Greg Horn is still somehow worse.

"Balkanization" is not good for peace. At least Putin keeps the area together, and keeps it relatively peaceful. A more moral leader might not be able to. Putin directs his people's frustration at external targets (like all good dictators) and that way keeps them from each others throats. I don't want to Bully. I want a lesson to be learned. I'm open to being wrong on things. Wouldn't be the first time, and won't be the last. This is a really bad idea because one of the reasons Russia has such strong support for Putin is that Putin's administration controls the media. Many, many people in dictatorial countries have used sites like Twitter to communicate with the outside world - see Iran in the last decade, for instance. That's why these countries work so hard to crack down on their citizens' access to a free and open internet. For you, the internet might just be a source of entertainment. That isn't true for everyone, and people have been trying to point out that your assumption is faulty and incredibly ignorant of the outside world. Further limiting the ability of these citizens to communicate through sites not owned and controlled by their government doesn't make things any better for them. For a lot of people, it makes them much worse.
