But the pattern of asking random people you don't know how to resolve an issue that's been eating you up inside for six months and could be cleared up with a single sentence of human interaction that might make you feel a smidge uncomfortable? This seems really common with young people at /relationships these days.

Advice columns have been a thing since the invention of print and larger cities would often have multiple prints a day of their paper in order to include updated gossip for the day based on anonymous sources. If there's anything my English degree has given me, it's plenty of gilded age literature to point to when people lament how the internet has made us all spergy, over-analyzing weirdos. Just read some Henry James, the only difference is randos in the 19th century knew how to keep things short. My dear paramour has neglected to propose despite each of us passing from impish 19 to a mature 20. Is it perhaps my ruddy complexion sending him to yet another buggy race? My arsenic tablets run scarce and I fear for father's depleting fortune has me considering a proposal most unfit from the butcher's uncle. - Pining Rather Indecisively in Maine

I love his logic that because the title had "Tinder" in it, that means she was lying about meeting the guy at a bar. I'm sure all the amateur videos of dads loving the babysitter are 100% definitely Angie's List verified. And like, for real. That's super hosed up the 41 year old dude posted it online, if it's her. I don't understand why he's glossing over that fact. Lots of people rebound and rebuild from cheating but the fact he doesn't seem to register how much her privacy was violated with that being posted is kinda a red flag.
