That was the most exciting baseball game I've ever watched. Anthony Rizzo is possibly the most adorable baseballman ever. But now that the Cubs have won, it's time for me to go back to complaining that the Brewers have never won a world series.

Last night's game was great, no doubt. But 2011 game 6 was literally down to the last strike two times and a team came back from two 2-run deficits in the 9th inning or later.

Lifelong Indians fan from growing up in Ohio. Sitting at work gutted still. I remember feeling just like this in 97 at 16 years old. I can't really process this. This series was great, and last night was probably the best baseball game I've ever seen. I can't believe how much of an emotional roller-coaster it was. I went absolutely apeshit when Davis hit his game-tying donger and thought there was no way the Indians weren't going to score in the bottom of the 9th. That 14-second rain delay was dumb and killed the momentum. The funny thing was we let the kids stay up to watch it. After the Cubs won, my 11-year old patted me on the back and said, "well.... there's always next year." Thanks buddy. Even though you kept asking which team was pitching while reading your Minecraft book. Well, that's my story. Congrats Cubs. It was cool to see you guys win it. Hope it feels as good as the Cavs coming back on the Warriors. Henrik Zetterberg fucked around with this message at 17:30 on Nov 3, 2016 |

I'm basically personally boycotting football this year because of the head injury stuff, and the WS victory will make it much easier to make it through. Edit: aside from a few doofy playoff posters (remember that guy that was patronizingly rooting for the Cubs in game 5 so they could just have one at home before losing? LOL) I do feel bad for the Cleveland fans. The good news is both teams will be good next year and maybe we will be back here a year from now again. beejay fucked around with this message at 17:31 on Nov 3, 2016 |

CubsWoo posted:The only Cubs who are/could be FA after this year are: Joe Smith - Pass Dexter Fowler - I love him, but with Schwarber back and Almora looking very good, we just don't need to spend the 18-mil or so it will cost to keep him here. Aroldis Chapman - Get Jansen instead Jason Hammel - Worth the 10M for a 5th starter. Take the team option. Travis Wood - Please re-sign him David Ross - Come back as some sort of coach in the dugout Chris Coghlan - He seems to thrive as a Cub, we could always use more lefty bats, and he'd be cheap. Go for it. Trevor Cahill - Sure, but only if he doesn't cost a lot

I'm not a Cubs fan, but I could not tear my eyes away from that game last night. I normally don't even like baseball. There are just some games, however, that you have to watch--Game 4 in 2004, when the Red Sox clinched, and last night. Congratulations, Cubs fans. I think you've earned it. That said, you should probably fire Aroldis Chapman. Out of a cannon. Into the sun.
