It's probably the job for the Fun Police of Starfleet. No sense of wonder or adventure? Stern humorless disposition? Perfect for cleaning up after the latest slingshot round the sun!

Seeing the name "Enterprise" on a report probably drives them to attempt to eat a phaser emitter rather than deal with whatever they did this time.

Also I'm guessing their job consists largely of writing up incident reports and waiting for time travel to be invented so their future generations can dig through the multi-century backlog.

Turns out 9-11 was just Chekov loving with the phaser arrays after a slingshot and not realizing he was out of calibration mode when he test fired

Waiting for time travel to be invented? By the time of Voyager, it had been invented a dozen times, and a hundred naturally occurring time travel anomalies had been discovered.

They are already swamped in cases by the fact that any Star fleet cadet could cobble together a time machine or slingshot his training shuttle around the sun.

I mean proper "set the destination for the year XXXX, Ensign" time travel, not "well poo poo we got sent to this year by a freak accident, no we need to re-create it" time travel.

God those episodes were weird. For a federation supposedly above hangups like race, species, religion, and gender they still lose their minds when a hot dicking is required.

Monogamy versus survival. Adherence to Tuvok's wedding vows seems very illogical. Also, with him presumed dead, I'd imagine his wife would find a new mate quickly.
