Trump being actually in contention also makes all of this irrelevant, so the natural outlet is to find Vox journalists extra annoying.

This is a very good post and probably explains some of the reason I want to brutally murder Seth Meyers and anyone who posts his moronic "The sky is blue and trump is bad!" :smug: video clips on their facebook wall.

This more than anything is a big reason the race is so close, you can't browbeat people into wanting a candidate they have good reasons to dislike and the whole berniebro narrative only made more leftists want to check out of the election.

I don't get why people were so into Bernie. He was OK, but it seems obvious the dearth of people running for the nomination inflated his appeal to most. I compare him to Mike Gravel all the time because I'm assuming if the 08 field were as weak as 16 Gravel would've been more competitive.

My FB wall reads like baby's first election with the kind of people who support him.

I'd rather have someone over-excited about a candidate than political apathy. It probably is babby's first election for most of them, but good on them for taking notice, instead of nihilism.

Super Bernie fans seem to forget what a hard time Obama had in his 2nd term. He could barely pass any legislation and even the big stuff, like healthcare, was just a shadow of what was actually needed.

Why do they think that Bernie, a socialist, will have a better time with Congress ? How will he pass the law making college free ?

Hillary's paid minions couldn't stop harassing Bernie supporters, even after he lost.

They're still harassing Bernie supporters.

You would think they would have realized by now that they shouldn't be chastising people who they need help from to get Hillary elected.

i just wanted an actual good person in the office that was going to try his damndest to do good things even if the rest of the scumbags in dc were cockblocking him every step of the way

is it better that we're going to get yet another scumbag actually passing scumbag legislation and feel good but does little half measures occasionally? at least they get things done!

I think a lot of people found bernie to be more inspiring and a possible motivator for downticket success, he would try to do what he said he wanted to do but he also made it clear that none of that would be possible if we didn't also show up for other elections. Beyond that even if he didn't get what he wanted he would at least be an active resistance to stuff getting worse. A lot of people who are skeptical of a hillary presidency aren't really directly opposed to anything in her platform but moreso that she'll have the typical approach where she makes a tepid effort to get that stuffed passed, buckles at first sign of resistance, then settles on a bunch of "compromises" that ultimately don't do a whole lot beyond making the rich richer and the poor poorer. It just comes across as a giant act, "oh we can't do anything because those mean old republicans stop our every effort, better just make the income gap worse instead while getting involved in another oversea conflict" *gets charity flooded with private donations*.

I'm in my late thirties and have been through a few elections. I liked Bernie from the start because I remembered the cranky old man who was hollerin' about the Iraq war and how it was a really dumb idea. I've been following him since then and he's always given me the impression of being an honest man who really wants to make people's lives better.

My facebook wall featured exactly one bernie post. I liked his simon and garfunkel video. :3:

Well, yeah, some republicans actually straight up said they're goal was to make his presidency look bad. They would be against legislation they themselves proposed moths before and other stuff like that. I hated when he would show up in the Rose Garden to have a mild mannered talk about working together instead of calling them by name for stuff like that.

Gerrymandering is very real and it's how the House can stack GOP representatives in areas where clearly most of the population votes D but hohoho that majority is all in one district so they get 1 Democrat rep and the rural areas are all 6-7 distinct districts that all get a GOP rep.

Dems do it too ofc but it helps the GOP more i mean just look at this poo poo lol:

you put people on buses and drive them to the district you need their votes in, rather than go to the hassle of redrawing the electoral map and hoping everyone goes along with you

the point is not to win districts, the point is to make it so that even if there is a 50/50 population split 6 or 7 of the 8 representatives are still GOP

besides I don't think it works like how you're describing anyway, you're registered to vote and your vote counts for the district your address is in. You're thinking of primary stacking stuff.
