They're not "minicomputers" even if they're Mac Minis! It's funny, since 2006 all Mac's have literally been IBM PC compatibles. The only practical differentiation is the software preinstalled on it. The same thing could go for the PS4 and XBone but the platforms are a bit more locked down. It's funny to think that after all that fanboy bickering between console, mac and x86 users everyone did end up just settling on the old IBM standard. Then again, one could argue that phones are the real personal computers today.

Speaking of some old arcades and arcade gaming: James Rolfe (AVGN) just released a video where he visits the Galloping Ghost arcade in Illinois with Doug from Nostalgia Critic and Andre from Black Nerd comedy. These dudes are having a blast at this place, but it's also a good look inside Galloping Ghost for those of us who cant make it out there. Check it out if you want: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjTlQBsjp-g

I'm probably in the middle of you lot. At Hgihschool I remember we ran Windows 3.1 as our main environment, then if we wanted internet and email access through Pegasus we had to reboot into 3.11. Also EVERYONE had a 'No Fear' background.

It was called funland or something like that and was the perfect 1980s arecade although I think it had been around for years before. Smoky, dark had a weird snackbar and lots of delinquents hanging around. It was in Lake Geneva, WI and had lots of older games going back to the 1930s that were still in good repair. I remember They had several baseball games like the one you linked but also A 1930s one with a track the balls would roll down for pitching And one with little figures pitching and batting Other EM games like these golf games And the old projector based games I remember playing the hell out of this game with my brother https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqyyR0nfC54 Sadly the place went out of business a few years ago and the games were all auctioned off. I think the original owner had died or retired in the late 90s and maintenance hadn't been getting done on the games since then so attendance plummeted. luv 2 date boys posted:Speaking of some old arcades and arcade gaming: James Rolfe (AVGN) just released a video where he visits the Galloping Ghost arcade in Illinois with Doug from Nostalgia Critic and Andre from Black Nerd comedy. I finally checked this place out a few weeks ago and it was a dump. They really didn't have that many games in good repair and this was clearly filmed when they were closed as you couldn't move once a few people started to play as everything is way too close together. Underground retrocade in Dundee is way nicer. Or just book a flight to the funspot. I did hear about a new place in schaumburg called level 257 that is a pacman themed restaurant/bar that looks neat.

When I was in high school we used dumb terminals and the Madison Metropolitan School District's Time Sharing System. That's right , I learned to program COBOL and Fortran on a DECWriter II and a Texas Instruments Silent 700. We could check out a NCR 2660 terminal to take home and connect on a built in 300 baud modem with acoustic coupler.

Finally got some time to disassemble the monitor and put all the parts out in the sun. So complete de-yellowing has commenced... Only 2.5 hours in and they are already almost completely white. What takes over 2 days under blacklight, only takes about 4 hours in the sun.
