"Mother Mae-Eye" is one of the sillier ones, referenced in the Pie Bros episode and the Grandma Cyborg episode.

Try to find any episode where the theme song is in Japanese. This includes the Larry episodes.

I did not watch the original Teen Titans so maybe there was something about the show that made all of its fans shove giant sticks up their asses, but if you told me the original creators of pretty much any show I like were going to make an official parody of their own material, I'd be super stoked.

I might be the only one who hated how the original TT looked, but drat, it irked me. Restricted face and body types with flat hair that would break into faux anime faces with choppy frame rates (that were also trying to imitate anime?) and way too many wonk faces. It took me a long time to give TTG a chance for it. TTG may be Flash, but I think the character designs are much better. They have more volume, the shapes and sizes are carried further and are more imaginative and gently caress, is Beast Boy's design 1000% more palatable. I'd forgotten how the old design looked, I disliked it so much.

The biggest direct reference (beyond the episode they just dubbed over) would probably be the episode where Cyborg infiltrated the Hive, since there was another episode that went the same way in TTG. There was also another episode where they went inside of Raven's mind to find multicolored differently-emotioned Ravens. Other than that, there's not really references beyond the characters being carried over. Red X, Terra, Blackfire pulled a similar trick, Brother Blood had an entire arc devoted to him, Control Freak, and Aqualad. Have they ever used Dr. Light in TTG?

I've started watching TTG from the most recent episode backwards and it's pretty fun. I've never had a problem with the animation style. It's vibrant and just detailed enough, my only problem being the animals are more cartooney than the characters. But when they redub an old episode, I can't believe how much worse the old show looks than I remember it looking. SlothfulCobra posted:Have they ever used Dr. Light in TTG? He's shown up in some of the episodes I've seen, like as a resident of the apartment and in the background elsewhere.

I'd still snob about saying very good traditional animated can just feel better than the current best used flash, but even back then I'm not sure it was still entirely hand drawn. It was WB trying to ape faux anime and it showed in how - well - clueless it could get in trying to chase something it didn't really understand outside of THE TEENS REALLY LIKE THIS WEIRD SAILOR MOON THING, I HEAR.

I'd also watch the Kid Flash episode, its pretty good and gives a lot of context to "Multiple Trick Pony".

Did they get new animators? This episode felt way more energetic than anything else. I haven't had this much of a rush from slapstick comedy since watching old Tom and Jerry stuff.

The episode felt pretty energetic, specially the last bit. Also, this is probably my favorite thing of TTG, but I just love how they play with the Cyborg/Starfire relationship, those two are just so happy and earnest when they pal around.

They literally went to loving Japan for the movie, it never stopped being anime. Also yeah, the fact that a lot of these critics cite a kids show appealing to kids as a negative tells us more about them than it does the show. Not everything needs to be Steven Universe or Adventure Time. Waffleman_ fucked around with this message at 00:07 on Nov 6, 2016 |

I really hope this has nothing to do with their characters and everything to do with how their actors react with each other and people just write stories about the dumb things they've texted, tweeted or otherwise done when they're hanging out during episodes. I want to believe Hynden Walch and Khary Payton are super cool BFF.

There's nothing like really showing your age knowing about Who Framed Rodger Rabbit to really scream that this show for kids should be just for you. Well, I guess now I need to make a revamped version of Rodger Rabbit where there's like old Toon Ghetto, New Age Toons and Anime Town. Maybe include a walled off 80s-90s Toon Suburb.

Just to be clear, I was posting verbatim dumb comments from the thread you linked. I didn't realize you were even on the deviantart thread until I noticed the name on a comment I was copying was the same as yours. That said, people who complain about TTG are usually funny to laugh at, but they're nothing that you should be getting upset over. Hatred is a poison you feed yourself and all that.
