When Clinton was doing better than previous weeks, it changed polls in her favor by a lot. When Trump does way better than previous weeks, it changes polls in his favor. This worked well for 08/12 when polls didn't go all over the place and have huge numbers of undecideds, but this election has broken 538's brain.
