The thing with the speed this gen is, as far as the game itself is concerned, it feels like Game Freak wanted a chance to do over their original stat distributions with a new chance at balancing, but didn't want to make massive changes to every pokemon, so lets use Alola as a testing pool, see how it works and if you like it apply it to the rest of the pokemon. The problem is until that point, all of Alola only works against Alola, minus a few stand outs.

Aw man, Day wolf is so much faster than Night Wolf...and it has a priority rock move. As much as I like Night Wolf's silly edgelord design it's pretty clear that Day wolf is the superior wolf. Still getting Moon though.

Its weird Pikachu and Hat Pikachu both get unique lovely Zmoves considering Light Ball is a thing. You'd think they might be decent nukes at least instead of literally the lowest powered Z moves in the game with no riders beyond a crit chance increase.
