That is ok, you still won't be one of the normal ones. Just one of the zealots. These two candidates are the most unfavorable of 30 years worth of candidates.

I had a thought driving to work today: did Mitt Romney have a single policy position or initiative that wasn't a typical Republican plank? It feels like the only conservative ideas in the public sphere are the ones people have been rejecting for 8 years now. 12, if you include all the Standard-Issue Republicans that the party itself rejected this year. There's just nothing new there.

I'm leaving the drinking for tomorrow night after what I expect to be nine straight hours of complaining about how this election is the greatest travesty in the history of (now dead) America. At least there will be a dueling pianos show to look forward to.

Took about an hour to vote in central VA this morning. It was a nice bonus to see some "voter advocate" poll watchers get escorted away by election officials. Also a very fat lady became short of breath and had to sit down after walking the ~35ft from the voting booth to the scanning machine. I plan to be shithoused by the time polls start closing. I am so ashamed of my entire extended family's Facebook antics.

Reading all of the "horror stories" about polling locations, I'm really glad that mine is a quiet old folks' home manned by a handful of sweet old ladies. A line of length one; in and out in as much time as it takes to sign next to my name and fill in the bubbles on the ballot. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0GFRcFm-aY
