I got sucked in by the electoral college level polls and now I am depressed. OTOH, cinematographer and life-long professional troll Michael Moore called it a couple of weeks ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29xpn94_CL4 edit: Is marijuana legal yet? You guys he won! Trump won! This is gonna be great! America is so hosed! How are you not excited? Sure the people that live there are screwed, but what about the millions of brown people across the ocean who's lives were just saved by not letting Clinton into the white house? And we're all hosed either way, we live in Canada! This is gonna be hilarious. I haven't been this excited for a long time.

Just go to Mass or Maine, this is one of things that we started but the US is beating us to complete. More Americans gained access to legal weed tonight then there are Canadians, period. Can't wait to see how this doesn't affect the planned inquiries and town halls.

White, rich, privileged, and straight is essentially all politicians ever. Besides a better comparison for the kind of person that Trump is and the kind of politics that he uses is Rob Ford.

One of Trudeau's best qualities as a politician is that he is very, very aware of his own limitations and he listens to expertise. Let's not go pretending he's even a little bit like Trump.

It's not just Trump, though. It's the demonstration that there's a blueprint for the weakening of the norms of liberal democracy, and that blueprint can be exported easily (easily!) to other countries. A lot of the European far-right figured it out a long time ago, but we thought (for whatever reason) it was a European phenomenon. It's not, and we haven't figured out how to fight back against it yet. People ignored this the first time I posted it, but this is Kellie Leitch's (and Rob Ford's, and John Tory's) campaign manager, giving us fair warning that Leitch is going to go full Trump. It might not work this time around, but he and people like him, and Leitch and people like her, are going to keep trying and keep gnawing away at our norms. https://twitter.com/NickKouvalis/status/796215424090152960

The very same Bernie Sanders who repeatedly stated how crucial it was to vote for Hillary, after his defeat in the primary? Yeah, judging by the way people obviously responded to that one, he would've been a shoe-in
