yeah i'm sure all the old white guy libertarians were just chomping at the bit to vote for clinton until they spontaneously decided to vote johnson instead. stein votes weren't even a blip on the radar. it was totally the fault of them and not the multitude of other issues that have been boiling over for decades, no way

I saw someone make the point of how this is going to go and I believe it is completely true...

Trump will run one of the most corrupt and unethical administrations in history because he is a petty, vindictive and greedy narcissist. Media will respond with incessant investigations that makes Trump look bad. Trump will respond in the must corrupt, unethical, petty and vindictive ways and then we start the slow slide into authoritarianism. One of the first things Trump is going to try and do is change libel laws and I would not be surprised if the Republican congress aids him.

Well on the plus side, we will find out for certain whether "trumped up trickle down" actually works or not.

Spoilers: we've done trickle down economics before and we got the 1% owning 99% of the income.

Income inequality and unemployment will only get worse.

We face the very real reality of 90% of employement being completely replaced by machines in less than 100 years. Tax cuts for the rich never work, this makes it impossible.

The Trump administration/Heritage Foundation gets to fill 103 vacancies in the federal judiciary. Vacancies that Obama should have been able to fill. And any additional vacancies over the next 4 years.

Houston, we're Havana problem.
A circular firing squad implies that everybody is armed. The Clinton/moderate/establishment wing of the left in America is completely unarmed. We might give them arms if they line up with us, swallow their pride, and fight for progressive values. (This is all metaphorical; I am not talking about armed revolution or full Marxism)

rushing to cast blame is wrong af right now because this is the output of a long, complicated system w a meaningful fraction of a billion people making decisions and acting accordingly

yes there are lots of points you can find where if things had gone differently then the ramifications could have prevented the rise of prez trump, but to point to any one of them and say "this, this is the point of failure" is ridiculous

you address complex social/governmental problems complexly

None of them have said a word indicating they learned a lesson. All blaming it on racism, saying Hillary had a far-left platform, pitching a fit about steam finally getting let off after we held our tongues for six months cause we actually do respect pragmatism and aren't accelerationists.

If they show even a little bit of contrition, acknowledge that Bernie's platform isn't extreme and he MIGHT have won, then I'll welcome them with open arms. I'll give em a warm kiss.

I'd also add the whopping 1% or whatever she got would not equate to more hillary votes. Generally, without a third party those people wouldn't vote at all which would hurt democratic down ticket races.

It's good for the DNC to have a wake-up call and weed out some of the underhanded poo poo, but that wasn't as important to me as not having to hear "In a 6-3 decision..." For the next 25 years.
