if you are genuinely upset by the outcome of this election, then i urge you to channel those feelings into positive action volunteer for an organization whose goals you agree with, or at the least donate to them involve yourself in local politics and work for a candidate that shares your ideals best of all, strongly consider a change in what you do for a living and where you live and reconnect to those who live outside of the sphere of the white collar bicostal bubble because at the fundamental level this election was the final failure of the democratic party to be a party of the people

I live in a landlocked blue state, I did my part but I'm still sad  I found myself wondering this morning what more I could have done that might have made a difference, but my state already went blue, for both president and our senator that was up. Feelin' pretty helpless here

michigan also surprised me at first bc it has the highest muslim population in the country and i thought trump's rhetoric would have gotten them out to sweep the vote against him, but i guess i didn't account for all the middle-class white blue-collar racists that last phrase is the summary of this entire election i guess
