Also, I don't remember if this was in XY or not, but individual patches of grass have encounter tables, rather than routes, which means there are a few cases where a given pokemon will appear only in one spot on a given route.

hey thread what in your opinion is the weirdest change a pokemon undergoes when evolving? while there's some that drastically change (magikarp > gyarados, trapinch > vibrava etc.) there are at least thematic reasons behind them. but then there's stuff like shroomish > breloom, and aside from retaining the mushroom theme, i don't see how they're connected at all. why would this random mushroom turn into a boxing kangaroo??

Although I did spend about two hours trying to catch a Feebas at the behest of an NPC with no luck. Now that fishing only happens at specific nodes, though, I imagine this was more bad luck than pixel hunt.
