The Democratic party is, by and large, a neoliberal party of people that pay lip-service to their constituents while doing very little to make meaningful reform in their favor. It also turns out many of their concerns are very valid and are shared by poorer black and Hispanic voters. As I said before you don't have to win over a majority of them - just winning 15% more will keep you from having your face wipe the loving floor in WI, MI, and PA.
