History shows, again and again, how nature points out the folly of man.
More rear end-covering from the geniuses who lost half a million black votes in the Rust Belt: http://www.politico.com/story/2016/11/clinton-campaign-email-comey-letters-threw-the-election-to-trump-231244?cmpid=sf

quote:

“We believe that we lost this election in the last week. Comey’s letter in the last 11 days of the election both helped depress our turnout and also drove away some of our critical support among college-educated white voters — particularly in the suburbs,” Nayak wrote. “We also think Comey’s 2nd letter, which was intended to absolve Sec. Clinton, actually helped to bolster Trump’s turnout.”

(why did they ever rely on college-educated whites to begin with?)

quote:

Nayak blamed the Comey letters for depressing turnout among Clinton supporters in large cities like Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Detroit after initial record early voting numbers.

(Question for Venomsnake or anyone else: did anyone in the Clinton campaign seriously consider that early vote may have just been cannibalizing election day votes?)

quote:

“There is no question that a week from Election Day, Sec. Clinton was poised for a historic win. In the end, less than 110K votes out of tens of millions cast on Election Day made the difference in this race,” Nayak wrote. “It is worth noting that Jill Stein alone got 130K votes in those three states---and though her votes don't distribute perfectly to cover the margin across the three states, it is an important reminder of the influence of 3rd party votes.”

(Every Jill Stein vote cast in the country would not have gotten Clinton to 270 - people who didn't vote for President at all when casting their ballots were, as usual, a much bigger issue)

I don't know how well it will work, though. A lot of the current anti poverty proposals from dems are seen as socialism or handouts to minorities. Maybe we just need strong local candidates who aren't tied to a lovely national one, though.

More on Clinton. I don't think she could have appealed to WWC voters. She has such a credibility problem. Her best bet was turning out the black vote. She took it for granted. Thought Obama could deliver by his presence alone.
